“Chill out. I’m not gonna screw your friend behind the bar,” Austin says, amusement thick in his tone as relief pounds through my veins. “I’ll screw her in the middle of the packed dance floor while everyone continues having a great time around us, completely oblivious to the way she screams for more.”

I gag, the thought of them together making me want to hurl. “I’m gonna kill you.”

“Ahh, interesting,” he says. “You don’t like it now that the tables have turned, huh?”

Becs gives me a shove to get me moving, and I wander over to the side to where the other customers are waiting for their meals as another wave of guilt crashes through me. I suppose the tables really have been turned, the only difference is, I’m not just joking about screwing his best friend, I’m actually doing it.

“Have I told you lately that you’re an asshole?” I question, feeling like a complete bitch.

“Uhhhh, you might have mentioned it here and there,” he teases. I roll my eyes, and thankfully he changes the topic. “How’re classes going? There’s not long ’til graduation.”

“Yeah, I—oh shit. Hold up, my lunch is ready,” I say as Becs and I step forward to collect our meals off the counter. I squish my phone between my ear and shoulder, needing both hands to grab my wrap and soda before trying to balance it all in one hand. I grab the phone and try not to make an ass of myself in front of all these people. “What was I say—ohhhhh fuck!”

My soda and wrap go flying across the salad bar as some guy barrels into my chest, his drink instantly soaking me from head to toe. I screech, the chill from the icy liquid spilling right over the neckline of my shirt and down between my cleavage.

“Oh shit. I’m so sorry,” the guy says, scrambling to get a better hold on his drink and put an end to my misery. He gets himself under control before finally lifting his head and hitting me with a beaming smile that could have the potential to blow me away if I weren’t so cold and embarrassed.

“It’s okay,” I say, shaking the water off me. “It’s just water. I’m fine.”

“You’re soaked and your lunch is spread from one end of the bar to the other. It’s not okay,” he says, his green eyes locking onto mine as he blindly reaches for the napkins on the counter. “Let me make it up to you.”

Water drips profusely from my clothes as Becs steps closer, surveying the green-eyed dazzler. “Oooh, he’s cute,” Becs approves, not caring that the guy can very clearly hear her. “You know, apart from buying Aspen here a new lunch, you could always make it up to her by taking her out to dinner.”

“Wait. What?” I rush out, my eyes widening in horror.

The guy arches his brows, clear interest flashing in his eyes as he looks back at me. “I uhhh . . . would love to take you out. That’s if you’re interested, of course.”

“She’s chronically single,” Becs laughs as I mop up as much of the water as possible. “Of course she’d love to.”

“The fuck?” Austin snaps in my ear, reminding me that he’s still there. “Who’s taking you out?”

“Shit,” I grunt, trying to take the offered napkins while handing my phone to Becs. “Can you deal with Austin?”

She gingerly plucks my phone out of my hand and holds it to her ear. “Hey, Hot Stuff. What’s going on?”

I roll my eyes as the guy finds my fallen soda and scoops it off the floor, practically offering it to me like he was about to propose. “I don’t think I can salvage your lunch, but at least your drink survived.”

I can’t help but laugh as I take it from him, and not a moment later, he turns around to the staff behind the counter and re-orders my lunch. “That really wasn’t necessary. You didn’t need to replace my wrap. I could have done it.”

“I wanted to,” he says. “I wouldn’t have been able to live with myself if I let a pretty woman buy her own lunch after I destroyed her first one. I’m Harrison, by the way.”

“Aspen,” I say.

A smile pulls at my lips, and I can’t help but notice just how cute he really is, but the thought is cut short when I overhear Becs on the phone with my brother. “You should have seen it. This guy just shot his load all over your sister’s tits, and now he’s about to ask her out. It’s like a Hallmark moment.”

Becs meets my gaze as she listens to whatever Austin has to say about that, and as her grin widens, I can only imagine what he’s saying.

Harrison inches toward me. “I mean, she’s not wrong,” he says. “I really would like to ask you out.”
