“Don’t even think about it. Trace has already volunteered too, but I know the price that comes with it will be his jokes, and knowing him, he’ll attempt to take pictures or videos,” I grumble.

“One day, a girl is going to give him a run for his money,” Blake replies, her fingers going back to drawing designs on my skin, her eyes closing on a slight sigh.

“That she will. Let’s go get in the shower. After tomorrow, I won’t be able to do that on my own for a while. I imagine you’ll quite enjoy washing me up though, won’t you. Those greedy hands of yours doing nothing but teasing until I’m coming all over you.” My cock wakes up at the thought of having Blakely one last time before I’m laid up in bed for weeks on end.

“Does this mean I can tease you tonight?” Blakely asks, her body sitting up, giving me a view of her tits, nipples pebbled, showing off their cherry tint, much like her lips.

“You tease me, I’ll tease you right back.” She rolls out of bed, giving me a glimpse of the folds between her legs, my cum dripping down the inside of her thighs. It takes everything I have not to tackle her to the bed, pin her hands above her head, and taker her harder than I ever have before.

“I look forward to it. Are you coming?” she throws over her shoulder.

“As soon as I’m healed, darlin’, you can bet that sweet ass of yours, I’ll be taking that too.” I wink. A blush takes over her body, telling me she’s looking forward to that. I may be a dumb cowboy, but I lucked out when Blakely snuck her way into my soul, stealing my heart right along with it.

I’d like to say I tired Knox and myself out last night, but neither of us slept. It didn’t matter how many times each of us searched for the other, sleep never came. Instead, we talked all night long, about our future together, even going as far to say how many children we’d like to have. I want at least four. Knox wants two boys, not trusting that he’d be able to have girls as pretty as me. I rolled my eyes at that. Little does he know that if we have boys and they’re half as handsome as he is, I’ll be beating the girls off with a stick.

I’m now sitting in the room designated for family, anxiously awaiting news on Knox, surrounded by his parents, my parents, and, of course, Trace. Work on the farm doesn’t usually stop, but for today, things did. It’s just the way of life for ranchers in a close-knit community.

“Got a second?” Trace comes to sit next to me, knocking me out of the state of worry I’ve been in since the moment they shooed me out of the room to prep him for surgery.

“For you? My partner in crime? Always.” I knock my shoulder to his, both of us snorting. Mrs. McCray’s ears perk up. I glance at her, winking, my own ears ready to hear what the almighty Trace McCray is asking advice for.

“I bet you’re shaking in your boots with glee, huh?” he jokes.

“You have no idea.” It might be the wrong time to be joking with Trace while Knox is in surgery, the scope of his knee uncertain, but this right here is helping me keep my worries at bay.

“You know the hardware store? Seems there’s a new girl in town. Only problem is, she won’t give me the time of day. Can you believe it? My usual charm isn’t working. If anything, it’s only making her fold more into herself. You got any advice besides not being my usual charming self?” I can tell this is getting to him. Trace’s shoulders are hunched, and there’s no way I want him to admit defeat.

“Well, have you at least asked her what her name is, what she likes, or if she’d like to go on a date? Not that I can speak much on experience because if your brother had his way, I’d be barefoot and pregnant. If I were in her shoes, I’d at least want to get to know someone before I offered up anything,” I tell him honestly.

“Shit, I’ve done this all backwards. Do me a favor?” he replies.

“Anything.” He’s helped me in the past with Knox, more than I ever thought he would.

“Keep this between the two of us. Mary Matchmaker over there would lose her shit if she got an inkling of what’s going on.” He’s one to talk. If it weren’t for his meddling, I’m pretty sure Knox and I wouldn’t be together.

“Of course, my lips are zipped, but it’ll cost you.” I know just what I’m going to barter with him for too.
