“Not for food.” He winked at me. “Pie later. Fuck me now.”

My inhale was so sharp and swift that it sounded like a rifle crack, and Ezra chuckled before patting my jaw.

“You asked earlier what I want tonight. I want you.” His eyes bored into my soul, seeing every desire I’d ever tucked away. “Need you, Duncan.”

And there it was. He needed me, and hell if I could walk away from something I wanted this damn much.

Chapter Fourteen

Ezra

I wanted to get fucked. That wasn’t entirely surprising, but instead of the generic low thrum of desire I was well-acquainted with, my body pulsed with a very specific need for Duncan. For more of his sweetly awkward caretaking. He’d set a certain mood in the room, one that probably wasn’t intentional judging by how brightly he’d blushed when I called him romantic. Which, honestly, made his efforts even more seductive.

He didn’t want to get laid, wasn’t finding the right music to fuck to, but rather he wanted me to relax. No ulterior motive, no plan to impress me because I was certain Duncan didn’t worry about impressing anyone. He let hard work speak for itself.

Rather than winning favor, he wanted to take care of me. He’d seen what my other handlers and friends never seemed to. Despite my reputation as a human lithium battery, every now and then, I had to operate on zero power. The endless social stuff became too much, and I needed to recharge, but I seldom got the chance.

Duncan gave me that chance. In fact, he seemed game to give me whatever I most wanted, the sweetest of gifts.

“You sure you wouldn’t rather have pie?” He laughed self-consciously as he glanced at the bed and the bedside table where the pie was waiting. “I mean, that’s damn good pie.”

“Yeah, well, you’re better.” Pulling him closer, I kissed him, slow and wonderful, like the bath had been, unknotting every muscle with warm, welcome pleasure. Unlike that first kiss, I took my time, finding all the fascinating things that made Duncan tick. He gasped whenever I used a hint of teeth, moaned when I cupped his face in my hands to hold him still for my explorations, and rocked against me when I dug my fingers into his jaw. Oh, he was such a delightful bundle of contradictions, and some other time, I would enjoy every minute of taking him apart. For the time being, though, I got the unique pleasure of knowing he was mine to command.

I might want to get fucked, but I didn’t have to relinquish control with Duncan. I could ask for and take what I wanted, secure in the knowledge that he’d try his hardest to give it to me. And that was the difference right there—with every kiss and sigh and touch, he was giving, not taking.

“Wow.” He was breathing as hard as me when I finally released him enough to replenish my oxygen supply. “How is kissing you so different? So damn good? It’s unreal.”

“Oh, I’m real.” Moving my hands to his hips, I tugged him closer so he could tell what I meant. My cock was tenting the towel in an almost comical fashion, and we both half chuckled and half moaned at the contact of our hard cocks through too many layers of fabric.

“I know.” His expression was so tender I had to kiss him hungrily to hide the emotions surging far too close to the surface. We kissed for endless minutes until we stumbled toward the bed, drunk on each other. The music he’d put on had shifted to a timeless ballad that perfectly captured the can’t-get-enough feeling coursing through me.

“I want to make you feel good.” He was so damn earnest. Perfect, really.

“You already are.” I patted his cheek.

He frowned as he gently pushed me onto the bed. “I mean it. I want to make you so boneless you sleep for a week.”

“It’s good to have goals.” Joking was easier than acknowledging how damn tight my throat had become. I pointed at his still-dressed body. “Right now, my goal is to get you naked fast.”

I let my towel fall open as encouragement, loving how intense his eyes were as they roved over me. Continuing to watch me, he tugged off his shoes and clothes with jerky motions. I couldn’t help my happy little sigh as his body emerged in all its muscled glory. Might be shallow, but damn I loved looking at his sculpted definition. And as many hours as he had to have put in the gym, he deserved all my admiration.

My gaze lingered on his thick cock before I gestured at my bag, which he’d stowed neatly on a luggage rack in the corner. “Supplies are in my bag. Inner pocket.”

“I applaud your preparation.” He twisted his mouth, and on another person, I’d call his tone jealous, and the unlikely prospect of my big, bad-ass lieutenant jealous had me grinning.
