Wolfe tensed up.

Amelia had thought about leaving, but that would be running. Being expelled from the pack, that was… He looked at Alpha, who was still staring at him.

“She’s pack, and I will not be told who I can and cannot have in our pack.” Alpha looked around the table, and they all agreed. “Do any of you have a reason for vegan fucking food to not be made available to Amelia?”

None of the pack members raised their hand. If anything, they all looked entertained. The fact he had to sneak that shit in was ridiculous.

Alpha slapped his hand on the table. He used to have a gavel, but that had constantly been snapped, which was always a waste. Alpha decided to use his palm.

Church was dismissed, and Wolfe got to his feet.

“Wolfe, a word,” Alpha said.

The club left the room, and he turned to look at Alpha. “Is there anything you want to tell me?”

“No.”

Alpha picked up the piece of paper. “This looks a lot like your writing.”

“Could be anyone.”

“Amelia’s the town outcast, Wolfe.”

“I know that, Alpha. None of this is to do with me. Not a single thing. I couldn’t give a shit about her.” The lie was easy to tell.

Alpha looked at him, nodded, and then dismissed him.

He left the clubhouse and went straight out to his bike. One of the club groupies was near his bike. She wore a pair of small shorts and a bra that only just covered her tits.

“Hey, Wolfe,” she said.

Her lips were covered in thick gloss, and she tried to purse them to give herself a pout.

“Move,” he said.

She stepped closer to him, putting a hand on his chest. Her touch repulsed him.

“You know, if you give me a chance, I can make your life amazing.” She tried to run her hand down his body, going toward his dick, but he captured her wrist.

“No,” he said.

“You can do anything you want.”

And so could half of the brothers. He’d enjoyed his fair share of biker groupies. He wasn’t interested.

After shoving her out of the way, he climbed on his bike and took off.

She would find some other guy’s dick to suck tonight. He wasn’t interested.

He took the back paths, heading toward the bar.

With the threat of the hunters, changing into his wolf form and running wasn’t an option. He, like the rest of the club, didn’t need the full moon to turn.

They needed to make sure the forest was safe for when the full moon came back around, which was in a couple of weeks. The pack would need their chance to bask in their wolf form. To frolic around and to just let loose.

He arrived at the bar and saw it was busy.

Tonight, the music was playing loud, which meant Val was at work. He sometimes allowed a few of the pack to play and sing, but it was rare. Val was a grumpy old bastard when he started, and he made decisions and constantly changed them.

After parking his bike, Wolfe climbed off and headed inside, aware of the looks he got. He wore his leather cut, the Poison Wolves MC emblem on the back, and that always garnered a lot of respect. A couple of women pointed toward him, but he ignored them. There was only one woman he was interested in.

Stepping into the bar, he watched her from where he stood. She was circling the crowds, and like so many other times before, the pack ignored her.

The music was loud, and with one glance toward the bar, he saw Val was there, serving.

He figured with the threat of the hunters, Val wouldn’t leave his bar unattended, nor would he allow anyone else to protect it or Amelia. He watched as she carried a full tray of glasses and dodged being knocked over.

The pack was getting a little out of hand. Beer, music, and the heat would do that to them, but he didn’t like how close they were to harming Amelia. She made it to the bar without him having to intervene.

He watched for several seconds as she offered smiles, and the pack pretty much ignored her.

Amelia didn’t allow it to affect her.

Was that a strength?

Was she stupid?

She flicked her long brown hair off her shoulder and looked toward Val. He must have said something because in the next second, she laughed.

He heard the sound from where he stood, and he couldn’t wait anymore. He needed to go see her, talk to her, breathe her in.

Wolfe moved before a couple of women could even try for his attention. He had no interest in any of them.

Just this woman. Just Amelia.

He wanted her so badly. So, so, so, badly.

Wolfe had an ache in his balls. He wanted to own her, to spread her out naked beneath him, fuck her until she couldn’t think of her own name, let alone anything else but the pleasure he gave her.
