“There’s no way you can fix this.”

She pulled away, and this time, he let her go, knowing she’d kissed him back. Amelia didn’t want him back, but her body did.

He had to make her realize he had fucked up.

Heading into the clubhouse, he made his way down to the basement where he found Draco practicing some moves on the mat. Perspiration covered his body, and he only wore a pair of tight shorts.

“What do you want, Wolfe?” Draco asked.

“Came to see how you’re getting on.”

“Fine.”

Wolfe watched as Draco was a vision of control.

Like always, Draco held himself perfectly, changing moves and creating a smooth dance. No one would believe this man was capable of losing it without any provocation.

Wolfe had brought him back last time.

Draco stopped and turned to him. “What do you want?”

Wolfe folded his arms. “Help me win Amelia back.”

“I prefer to take the battles I know I have a chance of winning.”

“Amelia loves me, okay? I know she wants me.”

“You are full of yourself, aren’t you?” Draco said.

“I know what she wants.”

Draco smiled and went back to posing for his positions. “And you think she wants you. The guy who believed her to be a liar. The same guy who was embarrassed by her.”

“Yes, I get it. Do we have to keep on listing the number of times I fucked up?”

“Yes,” Draco said. “So, you understand that this is not going to be easy. Amelia has never had an easy life because she has always been different from the pack. You know this.”

He did.

“And yet, you still took things to the next level. Was Amelia an easy fuck for you? Did she matter to you?”

“She mattered, Draco. You know she did, otherwise, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.” Of which, he was already getting fed up with.

Draco nodded, rubbing at his chin. “See, we’re making some semblance of progress.”

“We are?”

“Yeah, you’re seeing what a dick you are,” Draco said. “Look, man, I have no idea what I could tell you. What advice to give. This shit between you and Amelia, that’s between the two of you.”

“You were mated before, right?”

Draco stopped, and Wolfe hated that he brought it up. This wasn’t a good time. Draco was in a good mood. One where he was in total control, and now he felt like an asshole for even bringing it up. He had no choice though.

“You know I was, Wolfe. You all know that I was.”

“How would you make this right?”

“Simple, I wouldn’t have gotten into the position in the first place.”

“You’re purposefully pissing me off,” he said.

“No, I’m purposefully telling you that only you can fix this. You’re the only person who knows Amelia. The only one who can make this right. I can tell you to be persistent. To tell her how you feel. If you even love her. That is all on you. I can’t fix what you broke.” Draco hit out, once, twice, three times, and stopped with his hand poised near Wolfe’s throat. “What you have to ask yourself is how far you’re willing to go, and if you love her enough to keep on trying to make amends for what you did.”

Draco stepped back, took a bow, and then grabbed his leather cut, and headed out of the basement.

He had to fix this with Amelia. Wolfe couldn’t recall in all his life ever fucking up like this.

Whatever he had to do for Amelia, he’d do it, because the truth was, he had fallen for her. Hard, fast, and it completely terrified him.

Believing Amelia to be a liar had been easier to accept than falling for her was.

Amelia had a feeling Alpha was keeping her around on purpose. He wouldn’t let her go back to her place, nor would he allow her to visit the pack.

She only saw Val, not that it was a problem for her. She had no close friends within the pack. What Amelia did miss was her dogs. Her two, amazing, friendly, adorable dogs.

Staring at the edge of the forest near the back of the clubhouse, she felt that itch deep inside herself to go find them. To run. To do anything but sit in the parking lot once again, trying to avoid a man who was proving to be quite difficult to avoid.

She didn’t know what was going on with Wolfe, but he was everywhere.

Amelia wanted to try to get over him, but that was impossible. Everywhere she looked, he was waiting, ready to strike.

Like that kiss.

She hadn’t been expecting him to kiss her, but he had, slamming his lips down on hers, silencing all protest from her. He’d made her aware that she very much still wanted him.

Hated him. Loved him. And wanted him.

What kind of weak woman was she?

He thought she was a liar. Had come out straight to her face and asked her to admit it, which was just crazy talk.
