Hudson gets me on a level no one else ever has. I got the news today that I’m pregnant. I can’t wait to tell Hudson. We’ve not been trying, but also have not not been trying to get pregnant the entire time we’ve been together. It’s finally happened though. I can’t wait to be the mother of his children. It’s going to be so damn good.

Our North Carolina house is being remodeled, so we have been staying in a rental about two minutes from the stadium. He’s training right now, so I start dinner in the Insta-pot and wait for him to get home. While we do have a housekeeper, it’s important for me to be a good wife and cooking meals for my husband is one good way to be. Hudson texts me when he leaves the stadium and I’m so freaking excited, I meet him in the garage. He pulls his truck in and I jump into his arms the second he’s out and the door is shut.

“I missed you too, babe.” He’s freshly showered, and he smells like sandalwood and cedar. He’s the spokesperson for Bold Dudes Soap Company and they send boxes of the stuff to the house every quarter for him to try out. He carries me into the house and sets me down on the center island.

“I have to tell you something,” I begin, reaching into the pocket of his Hawks sweatshirt. It’s way too big for me, but I love it. I hand him the sonogram picture.

“You’re pregnant?” he exclaims, staring down at our little miracle.

“We are.” I start crying again. I’ve been crying since I found out.

“These better be happy tears, babe,” he says wiping them away.

“They are,” I say.

“I’m so freaking happy, Mary. You have no idea.”

“Me too.”

“We’re going to be parents,” he says in awe before kissing me. I melt into him.

I don’t get a chance to say anything else before he’s carrying me to our bed, still kissing me. In seconds, I am naked, lying on my back in the center of the bed with my thighs parted and him buried inside of me.

He thrusts in and out of me, gently at first, but speeds up as I tighten my thighs around his waist. He makes me come over and over before he takes his own pleasure. He worships my body and I feel so alive. When he pulls out of me, he lies down beside me and pulls me onto his chest. I run my fingers over his pecs.

“Thank you,” he whispers before kissing me on the forehead. I prop myself up on my elbow so that I can see his face.

“No, baby. Thank you. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I’m glad I did it.”

“I feel the same fucking way, Mary. I love you.”

“I love you too,” I reply before settling back down into his chest and yawn.

I didn’t believe love like this existed. I never knew it growing up. I never knew I could be so lucky. I never knew the man of my dreams was out there.

Hudson Grayson saved me from a lifetime of loneliness, and I’ll be forever grateful for that. Words can’t describe what he means to me, but I’ll spend the rest of my life showing him.
