I pulled in a ragged breath. “Maybe you can teach me how to lift weights sometime.”

He pulled off my nipple and met my eyes with an intense glare. “Or maybe you can just start hearing the words I’m saying. You’re fucking beautiful. You turn me on more than any man on earth.” His hands roamed up my arms, squeezing my biceps before doing the same to my shoulders. “Besides, you already know how to lift weights. Either that or you have a pull-up bar hidden in your lair somewhere. Your muscles are long and lean and sexy as hell.”

Hux moved his mouth over to kiss across one shoulder and down to my biceps while his hands moved down my body to tug at the waistband of my pants. My brain intended to make a well-reasoned argument involving the lackluster comparison between a true weight-lifting program and desperate sets of secret late-night push-ups and pull-ups, but when he growled again and nipped lightly at my bicep, all that came out of my mouth was something that sounded like mrpfh.

“Uh-huh. Stop thinking,” he said again, only this time, his tone was less teasing and more tender. “I want you, Kevin Rogers. I want you and only you.”

I slid down until I was no longer propped against the headboard. Hux peeled my pants off before standing up to strip himself bare.

His eyes never left my body as he undressed. They skimmed across me like possessive hands, and I stared back at him, drinking in every new inch of exposed skin.

Jasper Huxley wasn’t a tall man, but he was solid and strong. His body was a display piece, a sculpture adorned with defined muscles, colorful ink, numerous small scars, and that hot-as-fuck tragus piercing that constantly drew my eye. I wanted to know the story behind each and every one of those marks, both the ones he’d put there and the ones life had handed him. I simply wanted to know him.

“Hey,” I teased hoarsely, holding a restraining hand against his chest when he made to climb back on top of me so I could keep my stellar view. “I distinctly remember that you mentioned another piercing the other day.” In fact, I remembered that mystery had been a significant portion of my jerk session that evening.

Hux’s knowing smirk was lava-hot and did all kinds of things to my blood pressure. “Yeah, no.” He fingered the dark metal at his ear. “There’s just this one… so far.”

I ignored the “so far” part of his statement. The possibility of a future where Hux would get more piercings and I might get to see them was like a live wire—enervating, and way too hot for my mind to grab hold of. Instead, I focused on the matter at hand.

“Then why in the world would you let me think you had one?” I demanded.

“Hmm.” Hux bit his lip and managed to get a knee on the bed. “Maybe because I wanted you to distinctly remember that conversation?” His teeth scraped his bottom lip as that sexy smile emerged fully. “Tell the truth. You thought about it, didn’t you? In fact, I bet you thought about it long and hard.”

I gasped in fake outrage, hoping it concealed my very real thrill. “That… that is neither here nor there,” I said primly, still pushing half-heartedly against his chest. “I was lured in under false pretenses.”

“Baby.” Hux cocked his head to one side, then braced his hand on my chest and levered his other leg over to straddle my legs. “You saw everything there was to see last Saturday… remember?”

Oh, I remembered, alright.

“Poor Kev,” he said, shaking his head sadly. “How can I make it up to you?”

I reached down to stroke myself, which made Hux’s eyes flare. I groaned and closed my eyes, concentrating on how he made me feel. Restless, desperate… desired.

“You could hurry,” I moaned.

“Fuck yeah, I can.” His hand skimmed up my flank, then paused abruptly. His face fell. “Shit, wait. I don’t have any condoms. I haven’t had sex in a while.”

I didn’t want to think about Hux having sex with someone else. “Oh, right. Um… Well. I’m negative. I get tested at my annual physical because…” I’m too embarrassed to tell my doctor I don’t require testing. “…because it’s a good idea, and haven’t had sex ever. Obviously. So…”

“The whole team tests regularly. I’ve probably had six negative tests since the last time I was active.”

I nodded, trying to answer the unspoken question without further conversation about his previous sexual encounters.

He lifted an eyebrow, and I nodded again. This time, he smiled and leaned down to kiss me before whispering, “If you change your mind, just tell me. If you want me to stop, just t—”

“I know,” I blurted. “Shut up and touch me.”

My erection had flagged, but the minute Hux scooted back and smoothed his hand up my inner thigh, it came roaring back.
