Which gave me an idea. “If you can listen to your study guide down here by the pool, that also means that you can listen upstairs on my massage table.”

His dark eyes seemed to light up. “Can’t argue with that logic. Can I bring my sandwich?”

I grinned. “Sure.”

Justin worked hard, and I wanted to give him the massage he deserved.

And hopefully this time, I’d be able to keep my hormones in check.

With his long legs, Justin beat me up the stairs by a mile, and he was already sitting on the edge of a massage table by the time I entered the room. I smiled at the eager look on his face. “First things, first.” I took the plate he’d set next to him and carried it across the room to a table by the window.

“That was cruel.” He pretended to pout. “I really do think better with a sandwich, though. Ask the others.”

I grinned. “By the time I’m done with you, you’ll be so relaxed you won’t be able to think at all.” Then I paused. “Wait, that’s probably not a good thing.”

He shrugged. “My brain could use a break.”

“Do you know what kind of massage you’d like? I did a deep tissue massage for Tye.”

“That figures. He buries his feelings deep.”

That was rather deep coming from Justin who still gave off frat boy vibes sometimes. “I can outline a few of the different types, or just kind of go with the flow.”

“That sounds good. The going with the flow part. Except…” his cheeks flushed slightly, and it made him look younger than me. “Well, I had this girlfriend once, and she used to rub my head, but she wasn’t a pro, like you.”

My eyebrows raised involuntarily at that utterance.

Justin’s face turned a darker shade of red. “I don’t mean like you’re a pro girlfriend. And when I said she rubbed my head, I meant—”

“A scalp massage. I got it.”

“Good.” He pantomimed wiping his brow in relief. “Anyway, I really liked it.”

“I like scalp massages, too.” I walked over to him and ran my fingers through his hair. “Your hair’s pretty short, so that’ll make it easy. Mind if I use oil?”

“Of course not. Don’t most massage therapists?”

“Some clients don’t like their hair feeling greasy.”

Justin laughed. “I can just go hop in the pool or the surf afterwards.”

I smiled as I studied the bottles in front of me. “I’ll be sure not to use anything that’ll make a shark think you’re a snack.”

He winked when I returned with a bottle. “Very thoughtful of you.”

“Okay, so—wait, are there sharks around here?”

He shook his head. “They don’t usually come too close to the shore up here, but it’s not impossible. So better not use fish oil on me.”

My nose wrinkled at the thought of having to smell that throughout the massage, and Justin laughed.

I directed him to lie down on his back with his head close to the end of the table. Then I pulled a stool into position. This kind of massage was best done seated. “Got your earbuds? This is supposed to be a study session.”

“Right.” He popped them in. “I’ll do my best not to enjoy it.”

Ha. Like I’d ever let that happen.

I enjoyed giving scalp massages because I knew how damn good they felt to receive. Justin’s head was probably the biggest I’d ever massaged, but it helped that his hair was short and didn’t get in the way. Still, when I gently tilted his head to one side, letting it rest in my palm while I massaged the back of his neck, it was hard not to gawk. He really was a big guy.

And, I soon found out, a moaner, too. Where I’d had to work my ass off to get one single moan out of Tyler, Justin was moaning from almost the start. He really was a fan of scalp massages. That made me try even harder to make him feel good.

It was funny, too, because with the audio playing in his ears, occasionally he’d mutter something he’d apparently just heard. So it was like, “Mmm… that feels good… monetary damages in tort law… mmm, yeah, that’s the spot.” A few times, I had to stifle a giggle.

His dark brown hair looked even darker by the time I was done, the oil making it stick up in short little spikes. But he was still listening to his study guide, so I carefully rubbed the sides of his neck and then moved down to his shoulders.

He seemed so content that I didn’t want to interrupt him to ask if he’d like me to work on any other parts. But then it didn’t matter because Dominic jogged up the stairs, calling his name.

I tapped him on the shoulder, and he peered up at me. He sat up just as Dominic entered the room.
