By the time we had gotten the horses and all of our saddles and other equipment loaded up, it was damn near almost nine in the morning. Chance looked like he hadn’t slept a wink, and when he told me he’d ended up with two women in his room, I knew I would be the one doing most of the driving back to Montana. That asshole. I wasn’t looking forward to the fourteen-hour drive.

I reached for the radio and turned it on, barely turning up the volume.

“I’m awake, dude, just trying to rest my body,” Chance said.

With a quick glance his way, I asked, “Rest your body from what, sex? Is it becoming that hard for you? Can’t handle having sex more than one time a night?”

He laughed. “Yeah, rest my poor aching body. I never in my life met two girls who could move like they did. It was their first threesome, and they evidently wanted to make the most of it.”

“Is that right?” I asked with a slight chuckle. “And did they?”

“I think my cock is broken, if that tells you anything. I never had anyone ride me like that. I’m actually afraid to have sex again. Pretty sure I sprained my dick.”

This time I laughed. A full-on laugh. “That’s what you get. You used condoms, right? God knows how many other men they’ve slept with. The brunette stopped by my room last night, and I shooed her away.”

Chance chuckled. “She told us in the bar. She’s no longer one of your fans.”

“I’m sure I’ll survive. Worked out for you obviously.”

He sighed as he sat up and stretched. “I’m serious, man. This meaningless sex just to get my rocks off...I honestly can’t stand myself in the morning.”

I chuckled. “Never thought I’d hear you say something like that.”

“Yeah, well, my mother would be pissed if she knew what I was doing.”

I nodded because she would. “You know, I’ve seen that blonde you were with a number of times, mostly with Bill Clapper.”

Chance stopped moving. “Bill Clapper? You’ve seen her with him? A lot?”

I shrugged. “Yeah, I guess so. Enough that I actually thought they were dating, but I guess not. Why do you sound so freaked out?”

“Bill Clapper is married, Tanner.”

I laughed. “Does that surprise you, Chance? Lots of guys cheat on the road, you know that. It’s nothing new.”

He shook his head and then ran his hands down his face. “Holy crap. Holy freaking shit.”

“What is wrong with you, dude?” I asked.

“Bill Clapper doesn’t cheat. He’s got a hot wife. A really hot blonde wife, or at least that’s what I’ve heard. I’ve actually never seen her since she’s known to stay back at the hotels. She doesn’t like to watch him ride, for some reason. I do know they got in a serious fight yesterday at the bar, or at least that was what Kenny told me last night. Bill’s wife apparently stormed away after a pretty heated argument. Fuck. My. Life. I was with a married woman, and not just any married woman. Bill Clapper’s wife. Shit. Shit. Shit.”

“Dude, you’re not even sure it was his wife. It might not have been.”

Chance quickly pulled out his phone and typed something into it. If I thought he had been freaking out a few minutes ago, that was nothing compared to how he was now acting. “Oh my God. I’m dead.”

“What is it?” I asked as I looked over at him.

“It’s definitely his wife. I spent the entire night with Bill Clapper’s wife…in a goddamn threesome!”

I looked at him and nearly lost it laughing when I saw his stunned expression. I focused on the road and tried to contain the laughter, but I lost the battle. Bill Clapper was one of the bull riders on the circuit. He also roped, but bull riding was his thing. He thought he was good. I knew good, and Bill was okay. Both of my brothers, Brock and Ty, were PBR World Champions. Bill Clapper wasn’t up to that level for a reason. He was cocky, mean as hell, and he didn’t like anyone making him look or feel bad.

“Tanner, this is not funny. This is…this is bad. If he finds out, he’ll kill me.”

I lifted my hand up and tried to control my laughter. “I’m sorry. Listen, I’m almost positive you’re not the first guy she’s slept with. I’ve seen her coming out of a few hotel rooms, so I’m going to guess she’s not that faithful. Maybe he knows his wife sleeps around. I mean, if she didn’t go back to their hotel room last night, where else would he think she was at?”

He paused for a moment and thought about it. “That’s true. God, the things that woman knew how to do with her tongue. Almost makes it worth sleeping with a married woman.”
