“Take off your pants,” he said, eyes still glued to my breasts.

I obeyed him, slipping my fingers beneath the denim at my hips and inching the tight garment down my thighs. When the waistband was at my knees, I stepped out one leg at a time, being sure to extend the full length of my legs to him.

Standing before him in nothing more than my bra and matching panties, I felt exposed in a way I never had before. Cold chills ran up and down my limbs, even though the room was actually quite warm.

“You aren’t done,” he said.

I looked down at my mostly naked body and realized he wanted to see all of me. Every part.

Gavril sighed and stood up, walking around his desk and crossing the office in a few steps. Suddenly, he was standing less than a foot away from me. His eyes were even more arresting up close – silver and blue swirling together like molten steel. I looked into them for a moment, and I wondered whether Gavril wasn’t studying my eyes, too, seeing me for the first time since I’d walked in the room.

The moment passed, however, and his hands were on my body. Except, it didn’t feel sexual. It felt clinical, actual. Like he was inspecting an animal at a rodeo. His fingers trailed down my side to my hip, curling beneath the waistband of my panties. And then, with a single tug, he ripped the delicate fabric. The scraps fluttered to my feet, and I felt the air move against my sex. I shivered.

Gavril stepped back and tipped his head towards my bra. “Take it off.”

Tears were pressing against the back of my eyes, so I turned around slowly, hoping he wouldn’t see them. I didn’t want this man to see me cry. Especially since I had a feeling he would enjoy it.

Even though I could no longer see him, I felt Gavril’s gaze down the back of my body like a physical touch. It felt like a needle being scraped down the length of me, probing and poking at certain points. I took a deep breath and reached around to the clasp of my bra, undoing the hooks and letting the straps fall down my arms and to the floor.

And then, I found my arms floating above my head slowly. I twirled my fingers across my skin and circled my hips back towards Gavril. My ass just barely brushed against the front of his jeans and I heard him inhale slightly. Then, I pulled away and slowly turned around, letting him see all of me. My breasts shook with every inhale.

His eyes looked darker than they had before, wilder. He trailed them down my body, but as I gave another swirl of my hips, he blinked and then stepped back. Suddenly, he rolled his eyes.

“Stop that. It’s embarrassing.”

I froze, literally feeling the sensuality that had been breaking free and swirling out of me like smoke get reigned back in. It buried itself deep inside of me, and my arms dropped to my sides.

“You have a good enough body,” Gavril said, raising an eyebrow to gesture to me. “But I won’t know if this is a fair trade until I’m able to use it.”

Use it? It was embarrassing how long it took me to understand. By “it” he meant me. He was going to use me. I swallowed hard, trying to keep the nervousness hidden, locked away.

He sat back down behind his desk as if nothing had happened, ignoring me as he typed.

“Get dressed, and I’ll have someone take you to my house to wait for me. When I get home, we’ll fuck.”

The harsh word sent butterflies fluttering through my chest, and amazingly, through my lower body, as well. Somewhere mixed in with the shock and terror was… attraction? It didn’t make any sense to me. Gavril was clearly a monster. He had no feelings, no concerns for anyone but himself. But yet, I found my eyes tracing the strong shape of his jaw and the smooth slope of his nose. He was attractive. Hot, really. The hottest man I’d ever seen.

As I pulled my sweater back over my head, grateful to be covered once again, I squeezed my eyes closed, trying to clear my head. Gavril was a monster. He wanted to murder my brother. He wanted to use me, to use his words. I most certainly had not stepped into the fantasy world of one of my romance novels. Gavril wouldn’t jump from his white steed, scoop me up, and lead me into a better life. He was the villain. The obstacle I needed to overcome.

And that is precisely what I intended to do.

Chapter Five
