He chuckled. “Do you like getting spanked, Bumblebee?”

She jerked back, righting herself and shaking her head. “Of course not. No one likes to get spanked. That’s silly.”

Terry narrowed his gaze at her. “Lots of people like getting spanked. Half the submissives at Blaze go there hoping to get spanked.”

She shrugged and busied herself smoothing her shirt as if it were twisted. It was not. She was flustered again. She was an enigma, and Terry intended to learn all her secrets.

“Do you cuss and misbehave at the club in hopes that someone will spank you, Bumblebee?” They should probably move toward the car. He really needed to feed her, but he didn’t want to interrupt this conversation and risk not coming back to it. The longer he was with her, the more questions he had.

She shook her head a bit too vehemently. “No, Sir. I just can’t control my mouth. I try, but it gets ahead of me.”

He reached out to stroke her cheek, loving the flush. “How many Daddies have you had, Bumblebee?” he asked gently. He suspected the answer, but he wanted to hear it from her.

She shrugged.

“Kiki…” he warned. “Answer Daddy.”

She licked her lips and met his gaze. “You really think you’re my Daddy,” she repeated with just as much shock as before.

“Yes, Little one. I know I am. Answer my question.”

She fidgeted, shifting her weight back and forth. Finally, she lowered her gaze and sighed dramatically. “None,” she murmured. “Happy?”

He didn’t want to chuckle, but it was hard not to react to her sass. “No, Bumblebee,” he said calmly. “I’m not happy that you’re embarrassed about that for some reason. Nor am I happy that you’ve been navigating your Little space without any guidance for so long. However, I am happy that you don’t have another Daddy now that I’ve found you.”

She pursed her adorable lips and leaned into him again. Suddenly, she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tight.

Thank God. At least they were getting somewhere.

Terry rubbed her back and kissed the top of her head. “You were looking for me for a long time, weren’t you, Little Bumblebee?” he whispered.

She nodded.

“I’m here now. Will you answer one more question? And then we really need to go eat.”

She sighed against him once more. “If I must,” she murmured.

“Has anyone ever spanked you, Kiki?”

“No, Sir,” she admitted.

He leaned her back again to see her eyes. “Thank you for being honest. I’ll take my time and check in with you often the first time I spank you, Little one.”

“Are you really going to spank me?”

“Probably sooner than later, Little Bumblebee. I suspect you have trouble behaving. We’ll work on that.”

“I’m not really a brat, Sir,” she confessed. “Not inside. It’s all just a cover so that I’ll look cool in front of the other Littles.”

“I figured as much, Little one.” He took her hand and turned her toward his car. “Do you feel better about riding with me now, Bumblebee?”

She smiled up at him. “Yes, Daddy.”

He nearly stumbled before he came to a stop and grabbed her face again for another kiss. “God, I love the sound of that,” he told her when he released her.

She giggled. “I was just trying it out to see how it sounded.”

“Oh, yeah? How did it feel?”

She shrugged. “I might be able to get used to it,” she teased. “We’ll see. Depends on if you let me get crab Rangoon with dinner or not.”

He chuckled. “I think that can be arranged.”

She looked up at him when they reached the passenger side of his SUV. “What about root beer? Can we get root beer too?”

He laughed. “I think that can be arranged too, Little one. You’re not going to insist on regular beer this time?”

She scrunched up her nose. “Bleh. I don’t even like beer.”

He gasped as he lifted her off the ground and settled her in the seat. “You really are a handful, aren’t you?”

“I keep telling you,” she insisted.

Terry pulled the seatbelt across her and fastened it.

“I could have done that myself,” she grumbled.

He kissed her nose before pulling his head out of the car. “Daddy’s job.”

Terry felt a ten-pound weight lift off his shoulders as he shut her door and rounded to the driver’s side. His Little girl was challenging, but he was making headway. At least she was no longer arguing she wasn’t his.

As soon as he was in his seat, buckled up, and pulling out of the parking spot, he glanced at her. “I assume Chinese is okay with you then since you’ve already picked an appetizer?”

She nodded. “I love Chinese. I sometimes get takeout from the restaurant near my salon after work. That way I don’t have to cook when I get home,” she announced triumphantly.

“Chinese takeout can be a yummy treat, but it sounds like you don’t eat very healthy meals, Bumblebee.” He glanced at her as he came to a stoplight.
