“Uh, no I work remotely. I’m a social media marketer.”

Liv clapped. “Then it’s settled. You’ll stay. Now we need to figure out where. Did you mention what hotel you’re at?”

“Uh, no, I—”

Brooke nodded. “I think we should…”

It was like watching an Olympic tennis match where poor Rachel played the part of the ball. Frost stuck two fingers in his mouth and let out a shrill whistle. All four women cringed and covered their ears.

“Holy crap, Frost. What the hell was that for?” Jo glared.

“You three are like a pack of hyenas. Maybe let Rach breathe before you decide her entire future.”

A sheepish grin crossed Brooke’s face. “Shit, he’s right. Sorry, Rach.” She shot him a pointed look. “We have plenty of time to figure out details. Let me let you get a drink. We’ll start setting up the tree soon. Actually…” Her expression grew mischievous, and she faced him. “Frost, why don’t you get her a drink and show her around?”

“That sounds like a great idea.” Liv slung her arms across her two friend’s shoulders and steered them away. “We’ll keep unpacking boxes. Have fun, you two. See you in a bit.”

“Subtle,” he muttered as he rolled his eyes.

“Wow.” Rachel blew out a breath. “They are…”

“A lot? Crazy? Annoying? Nuts?” He could go on.

“Fun.” Her eyes sparkled, lighting her whole face. Damn, she really was pretty. More than pretty. She wore a subtle amount of makeup, but it was those damn glossy lips that kept drawing his attention. He’d love to find out if it was flavored gloss.

“Come on.” He wound an arm around her shoulders. When she didn’t tense or shrink away, he guided her toward the bar. Jinx sat there drinking and laughing with Spec.

As they approached, Rachel pressed into his side as though seeking comfort and protection. He couldn’t help but puff out his chest a little. The patched members of the club drew women without even trying. Most of the women who partied at the clubhouse winked at him and wiggled their fingers in his direction but considered him a lowly prospect unworthy of their time.

Not that he minded. Getting a woman into bed involves at least some conversation and a charming personality. Neither of which were his strong points. His hand never required either and never made things awkward afterward.

Still, it felt damn good to have Rachel draped against his side.

“Hey, Frost, who’s your friend?” Spec asked with a smirk.

“She is Curly’s sister, Rachel.”

Spec’s face sobered at once. “Shit, sorry.” He stood, and Rachel immediately tensed.

Frost shot him a quick head shake which was met with a confused stare, but Spec sat back down. “I’m Spec,” he said with a nod. “Property of Olivia, who you just met.”

“Nice to meet you,” Rachel said in a quiet voice.

“Good to see you again, Rachel,” Jinx said with a wave. “You guys need a drink? The ladies have all sorts of fancy Christmasy shit. Eggnog, some coffee and Kalua nonsense, some red thing. I think there’s even some chocolate and peppermint garbage around here somewhere.” He lifted his martini glass which was full of a white liquid and rimmed with red and green sprinkles. “Don’t know what this shit is, but they made me drink it. Tastes like a sugar cookie, so it works for me.”

Frost laughed as Rachel’s face scrunched in confusion. The big guy looked ridiculous holding such a dainty glass. “Great descriptions, man. You make it all sound amazing.”

“I’m more of a beer girl. Got any of that?” Rachel said.

A woman after his own heart.

“You bet. Frost, you heard the woman.” Spec winked at her. “Prospect does the serving around here. Anything you need, he’s your man.”

Yeah, he’d give her anything she needed, all right. Starting with orgasms if she was so inclined.

As he started to step away from her, her breath hitched, and a visible tremor ran through her. Shit, she really was uncomfortable. Hopefully, the beer would loosen her up, but she had to get one in her hands first.

“I got you, hon,” Jinx said to Rachel. He hopped up and rounded the bar, where he grabbed her a beer from the fridge. “Here ya go. Nice and icy cold.”

The big man might be loud, gruff, and often intimidating, but he wasn't dumb. Jinx picked up on Rachel’s discomfort and went out of his way to make her comfortable. Even taking on prospect duties.

“Thank you.” Rachel took two steps away to grab the bottle Jinx held across the bar.

Frost nodded in thanks to his brother.

She was back at his side one second after the bottle hit her palm.

“Have fun, you two.” Jinx waggled his eyebrows.

“How about we take this out back? There’s a fire pit and some chairs. We’re still waiting on a few people to get off work and get their asses here.”
