“What’s going on?” I asked, seeing Andrew and Akio pull on their boots and jackets. It was nice seeing them in casual wear like flannel shirts, jeans, and t-shirts.
“Water pipe burst. We have to go fix it,” Andrew told me.
“Shouldn’t take us too long,” Akio assured me as he smiled at me.
“I want to come help. I can’t stand to be locked in here any longer,” I said as I walked over to them and grabbed my brown jacket with a flannel interior.
Andrew and Akio looked at each other, but they nodded in agreement and headed outside.
With a pleased smile, I followed them outside and walked between them as we ventured through the woods to find where the pipe had broken. Up ahead, dark clouds rolled through the sky, blocking out the sun. I could smell rain in the air.
“We should hurry,” I told them.
“There it is,” Akio said as he pointed ahead where there was a random pool of water. He and Andrew knelt down and dug into the ground until they found where the water pipe was cracked. “We’ll have to make do with the tape. I couldn’t find anything else in the cabin to fix it.”
Andrew nodded as he took the pipe wrap tape out of his jacket pocket.
I knelt beside them and helped roll out the tape so that they could tear off pieces to secure around the pipe. When their hands brushed mine, I felt a small flare of heat, wishing their hands would roam instead of pulling away. I really needed to get my desire under control. It took over my mind like an addiction, and they were the only cure.
Suddenly, a low rumble filled the sky, darkness falling on us as a storm cloud rolled overhead. A few seconds later, sprinkles of rain fell down on us, steadily growing heavier and heavier.
“You’ve got to be kidding,” Andrew muttered before quickly piling dirt over the water pipe.
Akio looked around as rain started to pour down, thunder rumbling ahead as lightning streaked across the sky.
“Come on!” he said as he took my hand and led me toward the base of the mountains where there was a rocky slope with small cliffs and crevices. Rain drenched us as we ran through the storm, Andrew trailing behind us. He found a small opening to a cave and led me inside, escaping the elements roaring outside.
“Well, I didn’t plan for that to happen,” Andrew said as he shrugged off his soaked jacket, letting it fall to the floor. He turned and peered out of the cave, lightning cracking in the sky and illuminating the cave more.
“We’ll have to wait it out,” Akio replied as tossed his jacket aside and peeled off his wet shirt, shadows dancing on his fit body. He moved to my side as I shivered. “Here, take your jacket off. It’s just making you colder.”
I shuddered and nodded, letting him pull my jacket off before sitting down. I rubbed my arms, feeling goosebumps on them that even reached beneath the sleeves of my grey t-shirt. When Akio sat beside me and held his arm out, I smiled at him and leaned against his side, letting him hold me close.
“At least the pipe is fixed,” I pointed out.
Andrew nodded as he glanced over at us, seeing us huddled up together. His eyes roamed over me for a second before he sat down and leaned against the wall next to the mouth of the cave.
“Have you been doing okay, Emery?” he asked me.
I narrowed my eyes slightly in confusion, wondering where that question came from.
“I’m doing good,” I said, feeling Akio’s fingers brush up and down my arm. Now, I wanted to shiver from something else besides the cold.
Andrew’s eyes shifted to Akio’s. The guys always seemed to communicate silently like they could read each other’s eyes and expressions in a way that I couldn’t yet.
“Benjamin seemed to do a good job of taking care of you the other day,” Akio murmured near my ear.
My face warmed up as I looked between them. They all seemed to know about my sexual interactions, but they didn’t make it a big deal. Tension settled in the cave as they waited for me to say something. Honestly, what did I even say? Was I supposed to agree?
“Oh… yeah,” I said, drawing in a deep breath through my nose when Akio’s fingertips brushed down my side. “Is that… bad?”
Akio and Andrew chuckled lightly as they shook their heads.
“No, it’s not bad. We’re just curious,” Andrew assured me. “You’re turning us into rulebreakers, though.”
“Which never happens,” Akio added, using his free hand to brush my hair behind my shoulder. He suddenly paused and trailed his fingers beneath the collar of my shirt, tugging it low to show Andrew the healing hickies on my neck.
