He stood, stretching, and I attempted not to drool. The tartan pajama trousers he wore had slipped low so I could see the fantastic V-cut of his hips. My gaze devoured every inch of naked skin on display. The taut six-pack, the sculpted chest, the broad shoulders, and just thick enough biceps. He was ludicrously physically perfect.

A throat cleared.

My eyes flew to his.

And then there were his glasses. He’d been wearing them more often lately. Taunting me with that whole hot, genius lost boy vibe I’d fallen for as a teen.

Fyfe wore a far too sexy smirk. “Are you done ogling me?”

I crossed my arms over my chest. “You did this deliberately.”

“What?”

I waved at his half-naked gloriousness. “That! The no shirt, glasses on, cute baby sprawled on your man chest.”

Fyfe let out a low chuckle. “It wasn’t deliberate. But I like how flustered you are right now.”

“I’m not flustered.”

He cocked his head in contemplation, a certain heat entering his eyes. “Are you turned on?”

Yes! So, so turned on! “Pfft! We’re not talking about that stuff in front of Millie.”

Fyfe swaggered over to me and I stumbled back against the cot. To my surprise, he cupped my face in his hands and bent his head to mine. I thought he was going to kiss me. But his lips hovered just above mine as he searched my eyes. “Eilidh Adair, if I wasn’t so bloody tired right now, I’d throw you over my shoulder and take you upstairs so we could do more than just talk about that stuff.”

My lower belly squeezed. Callie’s words from yesterday came back to me. “Maybe, when you’re not so tired, I’ll allow that.”

His nostrils flared. “Really?”

I pressed a palm against his naked chest, my fingers flexing against the feel of him. “It would be casual, though.”

Fyfe instantly dropped his hand and retreated, his expression shuttered. “Casual?”

“I’ve been thinking … before either of us can decide what we want from the other, we should make sure we’re sexually compatible.”

“We are sexually compatible,” he bit out angrily.

“You don’t know that.”

“I fucking do.”

“Millie,” I hissed, turning to make sure he hadn’t woken her up.

“Eilidh …” Fyfe’s jaw clenched as he gritted out, “I am not having casual sex with you.”

“Then we’re at an impasse because I’m not getting into a relationship with you until we see how physically compatible we are.”

He stepped back into my space, bristling in a way that had my blood pumping. His voice was rough like gravel as he declared, “I am going to kiss, lick, suck, and fuck every inch of you, Eilidh, until you come in my mouth, on my face, around my fingers, and all over my cock. And I’m going to have all that from you knowing I have your body as well as your soul. No compromises.”

His declaration along with the remembrance of that dream I’d had caused wet heat to pool between my thighs.

Wow.

Okay.

I had never been more aroused in my whole life.

Fyfe ducked his head toward mine. “Can you speak?”

“No!” I shoved his chest, sliding past him. “I’m all …” I gestured down my body.

He faced me slowly, grinning that cocky grin. “Are you wet, sweetheart?”

“Not in front of the baby.”

His eyes dropped to my chest and darkened. “Your nipples are hard. I can’t wait to taste them.”

Literally, it was like he’d taken my breast in his mouth, his words had such an effect on my body.

I flapped air at my face, trying to cool down, somewhat panicked by the way he’d taken control of this conversation.

He chuckled. A dart down his body told me he was not unaffected by his filthy words or my reaction.

“If you say one more dirty thing to me, Fyfe Moray, I can promise you that the appendage tenting those pajamas right now will get nowhere near me. Ever.”

He considered this. “But you’ll want me to say dirty things to you in the future, right?”

I made a scoffing sound. “You know … well …I mean …”

“I’ll take that as a yes.”

“Casual only,” I warned him.

“Nope. Not happening.”

“You’re that convinced we’re compatible? All in or nothing?”

“Eilidh, we’re standing in my living room, I’m hard, you’re wet, and we haven’t even touched each other. I’m pretty sure when we have sex, it’ll blow our fucking minds.”

He was determined to turn me into a horny puddle of goo on his living room floor. I spluttered, unable to form a witty comeback. The bastard. No one had ever flustered me so much they’d stolen my ability to banter!

“Are we in agreement?”

“No,” I huffed.

“Eilidh—”

“I’m not ready for the other stuff.” My shoulders slumped with despondence. “I’m sorry.”

Fyfe barely hid his flinch before he turned from me. He strolled to Millie’s cot to look in on her. “I need to get ready for work.”

My heart hurting, my mind reeling from the abrupt change in atmosphere between us, I offered quietly, “Why don’t you get some sleep?”
