“Boy, you’re not happy unless you’re getting me involved in some shit. Why didn’t you tell me what that Sherry kid did?”
“I told you.”
“You told me everything else but not about her killing babies. She was in the house with your stepmother and Lisa.”
“Dad, I knew you were home, I knew that even without knowing what she is your over protective ass wouldn’t let anything happen to my little sister. Besides, if I’d told you she wouldn’t have made it past the door to blab her shit.”
“What is it that you plan to do to this girl now?”
“I want to push her so far over the edge that she shows her ass. Her parents have a habit of hiding up her shit, but if I draw her out enough that others can see there’s no way for them to cover shit up.”
“Roger pleaded with me to pull you off. He claims he’s going to get her the help she needs.”
“I don’t give a fuck about her help, what’s that doing for the people that she hurt? She’s not crazy dad, she’s evil as fuck.”
“You must be really mad huh.” His deadpan tone brought me up short. I was enraged yes but what the heck was that about?
“What do you mean?”
“You just cussed in front of me twice.”
“Shit, sorry dad.”
“Don’t talk like that in front of your stepmother and little sister. You kiss Lora with that mouth?”
“Funny! Can I go now?”
“Not so fast, I’ve been doing some thinking. I started piecing everything together after Roger called, doesn’t she strike you as the type who’d seek revenge?” Dammit!
“She’s exactly the type.”
“And?”
“And what?”
“Tyler, what are you planning?” I didn’t answer while he stared me down but he must’ve seen something in my eyes. “What the hell am I raising?”
“A man you could be proud of? I’m going up to see my little sister, I’m trying to get the hang of this baby thing, never know when it may come in handy.”
“Boy.” I escaped, leaving him to chew on that. At least this way his mind wouldn’t be on the other thing.
I should’ve known though that he’d see right through me. I’ve had enough time to study everything I learned about Sherry in the last few weeks. Reading through her diary was like taking a walk through the mind of a sociopath. She never sees the wrong in anything she does and she never forgets those who cross her or don’t follow whatever fucked up idea she has in her mind.
I’m almost certain that her parents won’t hand her over that easily, and I’m hoping that with pressure from Penny and the others it’d make her react in her usual way, which is to strike out at those she thinks have wronged her. In the past she got away with it by using threats and intimidation, using her parents’ wealth to do so most of the time.
Either she didn’t know, or she just doesn’t, care, but most of the kids here, including me, could buy and sell her ten times over, something that wasn’t the case when she knew me as a kid. I’m leaning towards her not caring. Once you’ve gotten away with something so often, you tend to become immune to the thought of repercussion. I’m sure that in her twisted ass mind she thought she was invincible and that no matter what, her daddy would be there to cushion her fall.
Not this time. I wasn’t playing when I said I’d bury him if he tried. She didn’t only document the lengths he and his wife had gone to-to save her, some of it illegal as fuck. But it seems she’s planned on blackmailing him once he cut her off with some other shit that she’d been collecting unbeknownst to him.
The other stuff may not be illegal exactly, but some of it could land him in a hell of a lot of trouble. The insider trading would most definitely land him in jail, but the fact that he likes to dress up like a chick and have some burly dude whip him for kicks wouldn’t, though it might raise some eyebrows amongst his peers.
I think though that that might be the one he doesn’t want anyone to know about. If he tries me I’ll show that shit to dad. I’m saving him the embarrassment for now though, because it’s no one else’ business. At some point I’ll tell him about them and where I got them from just in case his crazy daughter tries to use them against him. It all depends on his next move.
Dad had come too close to the truth of what I was up to. Since I’d had some time to think about what to do with her, I’d come up with a contingency plan of sorts, which just might work. She likes attacking her victims head on to silence them. In this case that’ll be me and if I’m not lucky, Lora. Since I don’t plan to let Lora out of my sight while that viper is still around I’m not too worried about her getting hurt.
