I didn’t know about any of that, but I did know I felt relieved that he wasn’t planning to shift to his Fur Form while we were still so intimately connected.

“I’m going to pull out of you and then I’m going to do a partial Shift,” Cole told me. “I know you’re scared of wolves, but remember—no matter how I look, it will still be me. Just look in my eyes, they’ll still be human.”

“Are you sure you couldn’t just fuck me and come in me instead?” I asked pleadingly.

I could feel Cole shaking his head.

“No, baby. You need stronger Alpha compounds to help you back down your Heat. Besides, you need to get used to seeing me in my Fur Form. I’ll need to Shift if I’m going to fight our way out of here—I don’t have enough of an advantage in my human form.”

“Well…all right,” I said at last.

“Good girl,” Cole murmured, giving me a sweet hug. “Now I’m going to pull out and then I’ll Shift.”

“Can you do it with the sun still in the sky, though?” I asked doubtfully.

“That’s part of the power of our Pack—we’re able to Shift at any time of the day and any time of the month—though it’s easier near the full moon,” he told me. “All right now, here goes.”

Slowly, he pulled his long thick cock out of my pussy and then moved away from me. I could have cried from the loss of sensation—I needed something thick filling me and I felt horribly empty when he was gone.

“Turn around now,” Cole told me. “You need to see this—need to watch me Shift.”

I didn’t want to, but I knew he was right—I needed to try to get over my fear of wolves and dogs so I could accept his Fur Form as well as his human form.

Cole got on his hands and knees and for a moment nothing happened. Then there was a shimmering all over him and everything seemed to happen at once.

I saw his face lengthen into a muzzle and his ears move up to the top of his head. They got longer and pointier and so did his nose. At the same time, black fur the same color as the hair on his head sprouted all over his body. Also, his knees bent backwards in a way that seemed like it had to be painful and his hands and feet became paws.

All of this happened in less time than it takes to tell it. One minute my big brother was there on the mattress and the next moment I was faced with an enormous black wolf the size of a small horse.

“Oh my God!” I whispered as my panic response started to kick in. I felt my heart banging against my ribs like it was trying to get out and run away and my palms were suddenly sweaty and cold. All I could think about was the wolfdog launching itself at me when I was a little girl, its golden eyes crazy with the desire to rip my throat out…

And then the wolf spoke.

“It’s all right, baby,” he said and his voice was Cole’s, only deeper and growlier. “Everything is all right—it’s still me,” he told me.

“C-cole?” I whispered, forcing myself to speak. I knew cognitively that the enormous animal in front of me was my big brother, but it was really hard to make my heart believe what my brain knew was true.

“Look into my eyes,” the Wolf said. “It’s me, baby. It’s all me—this is just my Fur Form.”

I made myself look up from his enormous paws to his face. Sure enough, his eyes were still human—still the pale, piercing blue that I knew so well. It seemed strange to see human eyes in a wolf’s face, but it was comforting as well.

“Cole,” I said again, this time as a statement of fact, not a question.

“Yes, Lilah,” he growled softly. “Come here to me now—don’t be afraid. I’ll be very, very still so I don’t scare you.”

Just being in the same space with such an enormous Wolf scared me, but hearing my big brother’s voice come from his mouth and seeing my brother’s eyes looking back at me gave me some confidence. Taking a deep breath, I took a step towards him with one hand outstretched.

It’s Cole—it’s just Cole in his Fur Form, I told myself. I reminded myself that it was my big brother—the one who had loved and cared for me and protected me for so many years. The Wolf was actually the man I loved…now I just had to learn to love him in a new form.

I don’t think I could have overcome my panic response and my phobia if it hadn’t been for his scent. The closer I got, the more I smelled it—spicy and masculine and entirely Cole. The enormous Wolf smelled like safety and comfort…he smelled like home. Taking deep, trembling breaths I walked towards him until I was standing right in front of him.
