She nodded. “You mentioned a nursery. I didn’t know you had a secret room.”

He winked. “I do. It’s off the master. You probably thought it was a closet.” He nodded toward the hallway. “Come on. I’ll show you.”

She followed him, holding Floppy and Sharpy, one in each arm, facing out so they could see. She was curious and nervous at the same time. It was strange to realize Maniac had a nursery in his house. How had she never known that?

She’d always wondered if he was a Daddy. Recently, he’d made that crystal clear. But she still hadn’t fully grasped what that meant to him and certainly not what it meant for the two of them.

As they passed through the master bedroom, Maniac set her suitcase down and put her makeup bag on the bed. His bed. His huge bed. It was a California King. Not surprising. He was a big guy.

She had certainly never slept in that bed. She’d never spent the night in his house. Even on the nights they’d had a beer together, she’d always had only one, and he’d been very strict about her drinking water and waiting a while afterward before she drove.

This bed was so high she didn’t think she’d be able to get up onto it without a stool. It made her giggle.

Maniac turned around, one corner of his mouth lifted. “What’s so funny, Rainbow?”

She flushed and looked away. “Nothing.”

He stepped toward her, cupped her face, and met her gaze. “I want you to be able to tell me anything, even the funny things. Don’t keep secrets from your Daddy.”

She shivered every time he referred to himself as her Daddy. It was still hard to process. She glanced at the bed. “It’s embarrassing.”

He pulled her closer. “I don’t want you to be embarrassed, Baby girl. Whatever it is, it made you giggle.” He lifted a brow, waiting. He wasn’t going to let this go.

She drew in a breath. “I was thinking I’d need a stool to get onto your bed. It’s so high.”

He chuckled. “I can see why that would make you giggle. We’ll get you a stool whenever you’re ready to get on Daddy’s bed.”

It surprised her that he kept acting like that wasn’t going to be tonight. He’d said he wouldn’t have sex with her until she was ready. Why did he assume she wasn’t ready? She’d been ready to get naked with him for months. This newly defined relationship was on a fast track. Didn’t he see that included having sex?

“Let me show you the nursery, Baby girl. Then we’ll get some dinner in you.” He turned her around and guided her toward the one door she’d never paid attention to.

When he opened it and nudged her to step inside, she gasped. Her eyes went wide as she looked around. It wasn’t just a spare room he’d intended to turn into a nursery. It was a fully finished nursery filled with everything a Little girl could possibly want or need.

“Wow.” She took a few more steps as her gaze roamed around the room. It was so bright and pretty and colorful. The ceiling and the top half of the walls were painted light blue. The bottom half of the walls had a white picket fence that went all the way around the room. The lowest section was painted to look like grass.

It felt like she was standing in the most beautiful backyard on the sunniest day. There was even a rainbow painted across one wall, disappearing into the corner. Birds perched on top of the fence and flowers peeked out around the slats.

The carpet was green like grass. The ceiling had fluffy white clouds. The furniture was all white to blend in with the fence. But the best part of all was the bed. It was a twin and it was raised as if it were a top bunk. A ladder was built into one end, but the other end had a curved slide, perfect for a Little girl to use to get back down to the floor.

Tatiana wasn’t sure she was breathing. This room was every Little girl’s dream. “It’s like a playground,” she whispered in awe.

“That was the idea.”

The bedding was blue like the sky with fluffy white pillows that represented clouds. There was a railing along the exposed side to keep any occupant from falling off. Under the bed was a giant rainbow-covered beanbag chair next to a built-in bookcase filled with books and puzzles and games.

When she was finally able to tear her gaze from the bed, she soaked in the rest of the room. Dresser. Rocking chair. Adult changing table… That last piece made her shudder and cross her arms. The open shelves under the changing table held white cotton onesies and stacks of diapers.

Suddenly she spun around as a thought invaded her mind. “When did you have a Little girl who used this room?”
