Damn…where had this woman been all my life?

8

Annabella

I lay in bed beside him, the sheets wrapped around my body up to my chest. My bedside lamp was on, and the bed was a mess from our rendezvous. Instead of hightailing it out of there right away, he lay beside me, his muscled chest peeking out from underneath the sheets. We were both tired, both immersed in the endorphins our bodies released after all the orgasms.

I studied his perfection. Even when he was relaxed, his stomach was so tight, the muscles strong at every hour of the day. His wide chest was made of two enormous bricks. There were scars on his skin, long scratches that looked like knife wounds, but the blemishes added to his sex appeal.

The man was so damn hot.

And sooo good in bed.

There were so many times I had been left hanging in the past. Men would satisfy themselves and wouldn’t even bother trying to make up for their quick climax. They would leave and I would take care of myself, but that wasn’t nearly as satisfying.

Damien wasn’t like those jerks.

When I turned to look at him, his eyes were already on me.

Green eyes were set in a handsome face, deeper than a well and full of mystery. His masculine features were always hard, as if he could turn angry at any moment. But when he was calm like this, he was just intense…manly.

I was annoyed with his previous behavior because I was sick of men acting like boys. I didn’t want to be misled. I didn’t want to be lied to. I just wanted a man who was straight with me. Damien seemed to be playing games. But I’d given him another chance because he was so hot and made me laugh.

I was glad I did.

Didn’t know men could fuck like that.

He held my gaze without blinking, as if an entire conversation were passing between us. His hand reached out to me and slid into my hair, his fingertips gliding past my soft cheek. They moved to the back of my neck, where he gently massaged me. The touch was so simple and easy but so sexy at the same time.

I closed my eyes because it felt so right.

His fingers continued to touch me, continued to explore me. He was all muscle and testosterone, but he could touch a woman with a caress as soft as a rose petal. His hand was enormous compared to my cheek, large enough to crush my face if he lost his temper. But that intimidating strength somehow made me feel safer.

His fingers trailed to my chin, and his thumb gently tugged on my bottom lip before he pulled his touch away.

A man had never made me so hot with so little.

He moved his hand behind his head and continued to watch me.

I slipped out of bed and grabbed a t-shirt from my drawer along with a fresh pair of underwear. Then I walked into the kitchen and made two gin and tonics. I returned to the bedroom and handed one to him.

He smiled slightly, one side of his mouth rising above the other as he stared at my offering. He accepted it with his large hand and took a drink. When he finished, he licked his lips. He gave me a slight nod in appreciation.

I sat up against the pillows at the headboard with my body pivoted toward him. My knees were bent, and my feet were tucked close to my ass. My glass returned to my lips, and I let the alcohol numb my tongue before it moved down my throat.

He scooted back against the headboard, sitting up with the sheets still around his waist. He didn’t get dressed, as if he had no intention of leaving.

Good. Because I didn’t want him to go anywhere. “You’re a really good lay.”

He stared into his glass like he was about to take a drink. That soft smile returned to his lips again, but he never got the gin in his mouth. He raised his chin and looked at me. “A man is only as good as his woman.”

“His woman?”

“Yeah.” He took a drink then set the glass on his thigh. “If a woman is beautiful, sexy, enthusiastic…he’s gonna work pretty hard if he wants to fuck her again.”

“You want to fuck me again?” I asked bluntly.

He held my gaze without flinching. “I did a good job, right?” His deep voice was like an ocean tide across my ears.

It’d been so long since there’d been a real man in my life, and Damien’s masculine presence was exactly what I craved. My ex-husband had his faults, but he was a good man…for the most part. Damien was the first man who’d brought that excitement back into my life. It was probably just a mixture of attraction and lust, but it was exactly what I was looking for. “Five stars.”
