“And you … you bat your eyelashes at Blaise, and he is done. Ready to change it all for you.”

She let out a sob, and her gaze swung to mine. “I’m sorry.”

I placed a hand on Madeline’s shoulder and stepped closer. “You think telling me you’re fucking sorry that you took what was mine because you were fucking Levi changes anything?”

She sniffled and shook her head. “I know you won’t believe me, but the guy who found me and talked me into giving them Madeline told me who he was and that her father was desperate to get to know her. That he was a good man and he’d done shit in his youth he regretted, but he wanted to know Madeline. That no harm would come to her. I believed him.”

I started to step around Madeline, and she grabbed my arm and dug her nails into my skin.

“No, Blaise,” she said.

Gina looked back at Madeline. “Just let him. He’s right. I didn’t know for sure you would be safe. The guy was attractive and charming. He seemed very sincere, but I couldn’t be positive he wasn’t lying. I wanted to believe him because if you were gone, then Blaise wouldn’t send us all away. Let him do it. Get it over with.”

“What you did isn’t cause for death,” Madeline said. “Besides, you tried another way to get rid of me that was safer, and it didn’t work.”

I looked down at her.

“You were desperate. Love can do that to you.” Madeline’s voice was soft and understanding.

Gina pressed her lips together, then let out another whimper before she nodded. “You weren’t supposed to forgive him for killing the people you thought were your family,” she said.

The rage that burned inside of me at her words made it almost impossible to keep from killing her. Knowing she’d hurt Madeline for her own benefit was unforgivable. If Madeline wasn’t so fucking determined to keep Gina alive she’d be dead already. I wanted her dead.

Madeline let out a sigh. “If he hadn’t told me the truth, then I probably wouldn’t have.”

Gina sniffled. “I like you. It was nice, having another woman around. If you hadn’t been a threat to what I’d found with Levi—”

“He fucked you, Gina,” I snarled. “Don’t pull at her damn emotions. Levi and Gage fucked you at the same time. That isn’t love. If Levi loved you, he wouldn’t share you. He’d cut off Gage’s dick for getting near you.”

She let out a sob, as if hearing the damn truth—which she had to have already known—was hurting her. Madeline glared up at me. Had she not heard when Gina had mentioned having a threesome with Gage and Levi? She knew I was right. I’d never let another man near her.

“Wanting something so bad that you ignore reality can get you into a shitload of trouble,” Huck said.

Gina bowed her head and cried harder.

Madeline took a step toward her, and I reached out to grab her arm and stop her. She looked back at my hand, then lifted her gaze to me.

“Let me go,” she demanded.

“I don’t want you getting in that car,” I replied.

Her eyebrows drew together. “Why? Because you think she’s going to lean over and bite me? She’s all tied up, Blaise,” Madeline said, sounding annoyed.

When this hell was over, I was taking her inside and putting her over my knee, then spanking her ass until it was bright red and she was screaming in an orgasm. I let her go and clenched my teeth to keep from saying something more.

Madeline climbed up in the backseat and pulled Gina into a hug and held her while she cried. What the fuck was wrong with my woman? She was comforting the person who had shown her photos of Luke and Cole with bullets in their heads, then lied to her and handed her over to fucking strangers. She should have taken my gun and killed Gina herself.

“How did you pause the camera system?” Huck asked her.

Gina sniffled and looked at him over Madeline’s shoulder. “I don’t want to answer that,” she said softly.

“Why the fuck not?” I asked, stepping closer to the car.

She closed her eyes tightly. “Because you will kill someone who is innocent.”

“If they showed you how to pause fucking cameras so that you could help someone abduct Madeline, then, yeah, I’m gonna fucking kill them.”

Madeline turned around and looked at me with wide eyes. “But I am alive. I met my father. Nothing bad happened to me.”

“But it could have,” I replied. “And Gina fucking knows it.”

“I don’t know his name,” Gina said.

“Liar,” Huck drawled.

“I swear. I didn’t exactly ask for it. We were at one of Mattia’s parties, and Levi hadn’t looked at me all night. I was going to make him jealous by flirting with this guy I didn’t know. We talked, and I found out he was in security. We went to the back, and I gave him head, then told him some other things I liked to do, but first, I had a few questions for him.”
