I didn’t even open my eyes to acknowledge this conversation.
“Oh, hey, Maddy.” Gage’s words had me snapping my eyes open.
Madeline was standing in the doorway with the black robe I’d bought her wrapped around her and her hair damp from the shower, hanging down around her shoulders. She looked nervous when her eyes met mine. I held out my hand for her to come to me, and she did. I took in the sight of her and wondered if it was me I should be worried about. Just looking at her made my chest ache.
She slipped her hand into mine, and I pulled her onto my lap. She pressed her knees together, then tucked her legs between mine to keep them covered. I liked that she was modest in front of other men. Not something I was used to or that I would have given a shit about before. I’d shared women with the three of them for years. Madeline though wasn’t to be shared.
“Want to order out? I’m craving barbecue,” Levi said. “Unless we’re going to a strip club.”
“I need my dick sucked. Let’s go get some strippers. We can get barbecue on the way,” Gage said as he stood up. He glanced back at me. “We’ll keep our phones on us.”
I simply nodded. I didn’t expect to have anything come up tonight, but I never knew. The guys were clearing out, and I wished like hell Angel and Gina weren’t just upstairs. Having Madeline all to myself with no one around would be good for both of us.
“You hungry?” I asked her, wrapping a damp strand of her hair around my finger.
“A little,” she admitted, then blushed.
I fucking loved that she blushed like that after she’d let me be depraved with her earlier. Jesus, I’d never wanted to rub my damn cum on a woman in my life, yet seeing it on Madeline and shoving it back up in her had made me crazed.
“What sounds good?” I asked her.
She shrugged. “I can go see what we have that I can cook.”
Her eyes looked exhausted. She was lying on me like she had no energy left. I’d thought she’d have slept longer downstairs, but she had only been down there an hour. I wasn’t letting her go make us food. I was going to feed her. If she’d let me, I’d literally feed her while she sat here, just like this.
“I’ll order out. You just tell me what you want,” I told her.
“But I can cook,” she argued back.
Pulling her legs closer to me, I kissed her cheek. “But I want to hold you. I don’t want to have to let you go. If you cook, I can’t hold you. So, please, let me do this.”
I felt her sink further into me.
“Okay.” There was a soft smile on her lips.
If I didn’t get her fed soon, she might possibly fall back asleep like this. The fact that she had lost so much damn weight was the only reason I wasn’t taking her back downstairs and letting her sleep in my arms.
“Tell me what sounds good,” I repeated.
“Um … cheeseburger and crispy fries. Maybe a cookie or if they have chocolate cake,” she said.
I wanted to laugh, but if I did, I was afraid she would change her mind. “That’s doable. Even the chocolate cake … only if I get to feed you though.”
She turned to look at me and frowned. “Feed me?”
I nodded. “You, in my lap, while I feed you.”
She scrunched her nose, then laughed. “That’s weird, but okay.”
I pulled her to me and inhaled her clean, sweet scent. “Yet me playing with my cum leaking out of your pussy isn’t weird?”
She blushed again. Damn, she made me smile.

The next few days, I stayed home with Madeline. I’d convinced her to get on a swimsuit and go out to the pool with me. The fucking bikinis that Melanie had bought her barely covered her up, and I’d made sure the guys knew that when we were out at the pool, they needed to disappear. They had seen her in one once, and that had been the last time they or any other man would see her in a bikini.
Being alone had given me time to work on Madeline’s swimming. She needed something else to focus on. Starting with the swimming, and then we’d go to the ranch and get her back on a horse. I wasn’t ready to share her with the world again just yet. The sun had given her a healthy glow, and she was smiling a little more, but not often enough. The insecurity in her eyes was killing me. I wanted to make that shit go away. She was mine.
I had even hired Angel’s nurse to work around the clock so that Angel didn’t come to the main part of the house. She was taken out to the ranch to see the horses and swim, so she wasn’t kept upstairs all the time. I also didn’t want her to have a screaming fit in the house. It helped, not having her here so that I could give Madeline my full attention. Once Madeline didn’t look at me with those big, haunted eyes and I felt like she could handle Angel’s being here and sudden outbursts, I’d let things go back to normal. Although the more time I had with just Madeline here, the more I wasn’t sure I wanted Gina and Angel living here to be our normal. It was time for a change. I just didn’t have the time to focus on that right now. Or the fucking drama that would come with it.
