I lay down and put my head in his lap. I wasn’t usually affectionate with him this way. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but he just carded his fingers through my hair.

He hadn’t been himself lately. Sadder, maybe. I wondered how alone Ian really felt.

“Thank you. It’s still tripping me the hell out. I’ve never been in a house this nice except Aidan’s.”

“It’s okay to want nice things for yourself.” Had anyone ever told Ian that?

He looked down, his brows pinched together, watching me, taking me in. The moment felt heavy, like Ian was showing me a part of himself he never had, and I was trying to fit the pieces together as to what it was. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but then closed it again and fingered my hair instead.

“He’s a cuddly little thing, isn’t he, pup?” David said from the doorway. “He’s going to require lots of love and praise, I think.”

I nodded. “You think correctly.”

Ian dropped his hand away.

“What about Ian? What does he require?” I asked. I was fascinated by David’s mind, the way he could read people.

He crossed his arms and leaned against the doorjamb. Fuck, he was hot standing there, and I wanted to get on my knees for him again. “I think Ian would enjoy love and praise more than he knows. You’re a naughty little kitten, Jordan, like I told you. Ian is a stubborn pup. But if he let himself go, if he gave himself to someone, let them break him down and help build him up, he would soar in a way he’s never let himself. But I also think he’d need to handle the reins from time to time, unlike you.” He winked at me. “Why don’t you come here and kiss me?”

“Yes, Sir.” I scrambled off the bed and went to him. Pushing up on my toes, I pressed my lips to David’s. He opened his, explored my mouth with his tongue, taking possession. He eased back slightly and bit my lip, making a burst of pain shoot through me and land in my hardening cock. “Fuck, that’s good,” I said.

Turning around, I looked at Ian, who was watching us, the bulge in his jeans fatter than it had been when I walked away.

“I really hope you play with us sometime,” I told Ian honestly.

He adjusted himself but didn’t reply.

“Come down for dinner, both of you. I have a few things I’d like to discuss.”

We waited one, two, three beats before Ian sighed, stood, and walked over.

There was a small smile on his lips, but I didn’t think he knew it.

CHAPTER NINE

David

I felt in a strange predicament from the moment I showed up at the motel to bring Ian home, and it only intensified from there on. I could see the flare of heat in his eyes when I would speak to him a certain way, when I would tell him what to do.

There was a part of him that didn’t want to listen, that felt he should rebel against the instinct to do as told, but that wasn’t the only truth flickering there. No, there was another, and at this point, I didn’t know if it was curiosity or true desire. But I wanted to find out.

It also scared the shit out of me because of Tony—not that I felt for Ian what I had for Tony. I’d loved Tony, but we couldn’t give each other what we needed. There were certain needs I had that he couldn’t fulfill, and that made him uncomfortable. The thought of craving Ian if he felt the same made me uneasy, yet the reality remained that I still wanted him.

I also wanted Jordan, yearned to dominate him while he did his best to please me.

And I could be wrong, but I thought they could give each other something I couldn’t.

“Sit. The food is already at the table,” I said when we got downstairs. “I got Chinese. Fried rice, broccoli beef, sweet-and-sour chicken, and mixed vegetables. I hope you both like that.”

“You’ll learn that I’ll eat anything,” Jordan replied. “I have an insatiable appetite.”

“I think you’ll have an insatiable appetite when it comes to sex too.”

Jordan took a chair and gave me a toothy grin. “Your guess would be correct.”

He was so silly. I liked that about him.

Ian stood behind a chair, and I asked, “Did you need something?”

“No, I just…”

“Sit down. Please. I’d like you to join us for dinner. If you really don’t want to, you don’t have to.” Tonight wasn’t about testing limits with him. Hell, no nights would be about that unless he agreed it was something he wanted.

“Please.” Jordan fluttered his lashes at Ian.

“You have a habit of getting your way, don’t you?” Ian asked him.

“Your guess would be correct,” Jordan replied again, the same as he had to me, and the three of us laughed, but Ian did sit down. I figured it would depend on his mood whether he liked feeling as if he was being taken care of, or taking care of someone else. In that moment, I was fairly certain he felt he was doing something for Jordan by sitting. When he did, his back was straight and his eyes shined with a pride I wasn’t sure he was aware of. I was right. He did like making Jordan happy.
