I wanted to possess him.

To own him.

While I thought something was missing because I wanted Ian as well, I knew if I only had Ian, there would be a whole other empty space without Jordan. I hadn’t even been inside him, yet I was quickly becoming addicted to him. Maybe it was because I’d spent so long knowing him through Aidan and Finley before we played. Most of the boys I’d had, we’d found each other through our mutual desires and got to know each other more from there. I’d seen Jordan laugh, and knew his insatiable appetite, and his work ethic, and how much he cared for his friends. I’d seen him grow and come into the desire he was playing out with me now. Whatever it was, there was something unique about him, and I liked that. I wanted to soak up as much of it as I could.

My phone vibrated on the nightstand beside me. I turned and picked it up to see a text from Ian.

Are we not jogging today? I didn’t want to interrupt.

A smile pulled at the corners of my mouth. Equally as intriguing was the pup in the room next door. I hoped I’d done right by him last night. I wanted Ian to know how much he was desired, wanted him to open himself up and let go of whatever it was that held him back in so many ways.

I thought maybe you needed sleep after last night. I’ll be right there. Also, you’re not interrupting, pup. We want you.

I kissed Jordan’s temple. “I’m jogging with Ian. I’ll be back.”

I was surprised when he mumbled, “Have fun,” because it usually took more to wake him up. “I hope he lets us keep him. Ian needs…he needs to feel comfortable. You’re good at that.”

His insight not only into me, but Ian as well, amazed me.

He added, “You guys are alike in some ways, I think. Make him see that, Daddy.” Then without another word, he rolled over and went back to sleep.

Christ, he was exquisite. “You’re very special, kitten.” I kissed him again and got out of bed.

After my morning piss, I washed my hands, brushed my teeth, and put on shorts and a T-shirt. I plucked a pair of socks from the drawer, then quietly opened the door to find Ian pacing the hallway. “Morning, pup.” I closed the door behind me.

“Morning.”

We went for the stairs.

“Did you sleep well?”

“Honest answer?”

“I always expect honesty, even if you think it’s something I don’t want to hear.”

“Not really. You?”

“Not really,” I replied.

Ian looked over at me and smiled.

“So fucking adorable,” I told him.

We put on running shoes and went outside. A cool morning breeze drifted from the ocean as we began to jog down the street toward the beach.

“We missed you in bed with us last night.” We’d both invited Ian to sleep with us, but he’d refused. I’d also said Jordan could sleep with him, but he’d declined that as well.

Ian stumbled, and I reached out and wrapped a hand around his arm to steady him.

“Sorry. I’m still getting used to all this.”

“There’s nothing to be sorry for. It’s a lot, and I don’t want to push you too hard. Even if we’re just talking, if you want me to slow down, you can tell me yellow. Or red to stop.”

Ian nodded. We were both quiet as someone jogged around us. We’d headed straight for the sidewalk that ran alongside the sand.

“I guess I don’t understand why you want me if you have Jordan, or why he wants me if he has you.”

This sweet boy. Did he not see how worthy he was? “I think the better question is why wouldn’t we want you? You’re sexy, smart, kind. Funny, caring, stubborn.”

He chuckled.

“Should I keep going?”

“No, that’s okay.”

“You want me?” I needed to make sure.

“Yes. It’s frustrating.”

I smiled. “And you want Jordan?”

“Yeah.”

“Then that’s how we both want you too.”

Slowing down, I touched his arm and motioned toward a picnic table. The beach was mostly empty, just a few people here and there as the suburbs around us began to wake up. Ian followed me over without a word, and we sat down on the bench, facing the ocean. I thought about what Jordan said, and I did think Ian and I had some things in common that would bond us, just as he and I both had with Jordan. “When I was growing up, my best friend—his name’s Tony. Well, he’s still one of my closest friends. He lives in San Francisco.”

Ian nodded, and I let myself remember the first time I met Tony, when his family moved into the apartment complex we lived in.

“He was a curious thing. I was about…eleven or twelve. Back then kids ran all over the damn place. I don’t know if it was any safer than it is now, but we were city kids. We knew how to take care of ourselves.”
