Aidan grinned, this spark in his eyes I’d never seen before. It hit me then, that this was something else I could give Aidan—family. He was alone just as I was. Jenn, Jeff, and the girls could be… “They’re your family too.”

“I don’t think you know what you do to me,” Aidan replied softly.

“I do know. I see it. I feel it in everything you do, in every look you turn toward me, and you give me just as much. You came into my life at three different points, Aidan, all when I needed you. That has to mean something, don’t you think? Serving you, being your boy and you being my Sir, it’s meant to be.”

He shook his head, not in disagreement, but maybe in awe. “I never believed in anything like that before, but I think I agree with you.”

“You think?” I teased, then gasped when he flipped me and was suddenly on top of me.

“Be a good boy, Finley.”

“I’m always a good boy.” His boy. His precious boy, and there was nowhere else I belonged, nowhere I would rather be than here, serving him, being hurt and loved by him. My Sir.

EPILOGUE

Aidan

One Year Later

“Marco!” Melody called from on top of my shoulders.

“Polo!” Harmony, Finley, Ian, Jordan, and Jennifer all called from different areas of our pool.

David and Jeff were sitting at the table, talking. We were playing the game a bit differently. Melody had her eyes closed and was directing me which way to go, and so far we weren’t doing great, but she was giggling and happy, which I enjoyed.

“Dat way! Go dat way!” she yelled.

“Which way?” I questioned, but then I heard Finley laugh and went for him. My arms went around him and I pulled him close, which made Melody laugh again. “That’s it. I’m done. We won,” I told her. She cheered, and I helped her off and put her on the cement.

It had been quite the year. Finley spent at least a three-day weekend in Texas every two months. He’d spent two weeks there at the beginning of summer. Sometimes I went with him, sometimes I didn’t, but I’d gotten to know the family more. They were beginning to feel like my family as well, only I wasn’t quite as open with it as I could be. I didn’t have Finley’s ability to open my heart as easily, except with the two little girls who had me wrapped around their fingers.

This was their first time to California. The summer was coming to an end, and we’d wanted to bring the girls to Disneyland. Finley would be starting school again. He’d begun taking a fuller course load the previous fall. He still didn’t know what he wanted to do, but that was okay. He had time to figure that out.

His aunt had made good on her promise and given him some of the inheritance. He’d struggled to take it, but they’d insisted. I didn’t pay him any longer, something that was his hard limit, but he still served me and took care of our home the same as before because that was who we were and neither of us wanted that to change.

Jordan and Ian spent quite a bit of time at the house, and I still thought Jordan was curious about the lifestyle. Finley had asked him about it, and Jordan said he would let him know if it was something he wanted to try. He teased about having a sugar daddy, but that was the extent of it.

Finley and I had played with David once, in the fall of last year. He’d loved it, and he’d been gorgeous and served us both well, but we also knew it wasn’t something we wanted to do again. He was mine, and I didn’t want to share him, and Fin said he only needed me. I still believed it had been a good experience for him. He knew there were options, and he chose to be with me because it was where he wanted to be, not where he had to be.

We finished our pool games, and I cooked dinner on the grill. At one point, Finley sneaked up behind me and whispered, “What can I do?”

“Go finish the salad.”

“Yes, Sir,” he answered softly. We teased the line, not flat out showing the relationship we had in front of the family, but also not totally straying away from it when they were around. We both craved it too much.

While he was gone, Jenn made her way over to me. “Do you need any help?”

“I’m good. Thanks. You’re welcome to visit with me, though.”

She smiled. “You know, I’ve wanted to say this for a while—I was wrong about you. I still think the age difference is huge, but…you love him. I know there isn’t anything you wouldn’t do for Finley, and he loves you too. And he’s happy. He has a good life here. That’s all we can ever really want for our family.”
