I shake my head as a nervous sweat breaks out on my upper lip. “Tyler, please listen to me. I swear that you’re not the father of my child. It’s either Dylan or Frank, and it’s definitely not you. I promise you that.”

He merely scoffs.

“Do you understand how stupid you sound right now, April? It’s bad enough that you’re fucking two guys at the same time, but now you’re trying to keep me out of my child’s life. I mean, what the hell? Why are you so ashamed of me when you’re the one who’s getting double-pounded right, left, and all the way to Sunday? Tell me, do you let them take you in the ass?” he hisses in a low voice, his eyes burning with lust. “I know you never let me cram your ass when we were together.”

Oh god, this is going from bad to worse and I gulp, trying to maintain my cool.

“I know you don’t want to hear this, Tyler, but trust me: This. Baby. Isn’t. Yours. Plus, I never should’ve slept with you when you got back to town because it was a pity fuck more than anything. God, what was I thinking? I so regret it,” I grit out through clenched teeth.

This is obviously the wrong thing to say because Tyler loses all semblance of control then. He grabs a stray bottle of sunscreen lying on the table and flips the cap before squirting it crazily all over the place, white lashes of goo flying high up in the air before splashing down on the lawn chair and deck.

“What are you doing?” I shriek. “Why are you acting like a child?”

Tyler merely squirts some more with a vengeance before pitching the empty bottle of sunscreen into the pool.

“Because you’re a bitch!” he screams back, his face mottled and red. “I know that’s my child, you bitch! I want you to admit it! Say it, say it!” He starts dancing around like a crazed lunatic and I watch with horror as he teeters towards the water. I know that Tyler can’t swim, and I don’t want to watch him die a gruesome death on this beautiful day.

“Help!” I scream, waving my arms about. “This guy is insane! Someone call 9-1-1 before he hurts himself!”

Unfortunately, there’s no one in the vicinity and I wonder if there’s a life ring nearby that I can use. But then a blur appears out of nowhere, and all of a sudden Tyler smashes to the ground because he’s been tackled by two huge men flying through the air. To my relief, it’s Dylan and Frank who have rescued me from this awful situation.

“Ow!” Tyler screams as Dylan and Frank pin him to the floor. “Why’d you do that? I’m very fragile, you know!”

I’m just sorry my lovers didn’t crack the nincompoop’s head on the concrete. Meanwhile, Dylan shoots Tyler a furious glare.

“Shut the fuck up, asshole. Slam that trap closed and don’t make me say it again.”

Tyler sniffs, struggling beneath their hold. Slowly, my lovers let go and Tyler struggles to his feet like a limp pancake.

“You two think you’re so great, but this is a two-on-one! You’re teaming up on me!” he squeals.

Frank looks angry enough to pound the smaller man into the ground, but manages to keep his cool.

“April’s our girlfriend, and you need to leave now,” he grinds out.

Tyler gapes at them, a sweat breaking out on his brow. He’s panting, and red, and the odiferous smell emanating from him grows stronger.

“You two wouldn’t gang up on me,” he shrieks for the third time. “There’s two of you and only one of me. It’s not a fair fight.”

“Good, so you know who we are,” Frank rumbles. “But too bad for you, sonny boy, because life isn’t fair,” my boyfriend growls. “And you’re just going to have to live with it. Grow up while you’re at it.”

Fortunately, Tyler has the good sense to walk away at this juncture, but then the skinny boy screeches to a halt by the pool gate.

“Let’s settle this like real men, instead of like cowards,” he demands. The thin man’s chest puffs up like a bantam and he puts his fists on his hips, trying to seem larger. “I challenge you to a fight, but two-on-two this time. It’s only fair. I’ll bring one of my older brothers and trust me, we’ll kick your asses.”

The blood drains from my face.

“Tyler, you know that’s not realistic. Talon and Torment are professional MMA fighters who’ve trained for years. It’s not reasonable.”

Tyler merely sniggers.

“So? It’s not like it’s going to be three on two. I wouldn’t do that to you ladies. Besides, Torment’s traveling right now so I’d need to rely on Talon, but it’s fine,” he giggles. “You’re going to be fucking toast because my brother is a professional and he’s already got some significant wins under his belt. So what do you say, sonny boys?” he sneers, using my boyfriend’s phrase. “Is it on, or are you too chicken?”
