“We thought it would be fun to go mini golfing.”

She nods. “Oh wow, I haven’t done that in years but it does sound fun. You’ll be so much better than me though because I’m totally inept when it comes to hitting any type of ball with any type of implement.”

I chuckle.

“It’s okay, we’re just going to have some fun so no pressure.”

With that, we arrive at the mini golf course in about ten minutes. Torment pays and then we grab our balls and clubs. Paisley chooses pink, which matches the pastel color of her dress, while I go with black and Torment picks white. I guess my brother and I aren’t very exciting people, unless we’re in the ring. Then, it’s a different story and we become savages.

But for now, it’s time to keep the beast hidden.

“So, you’re a photographer,” I say conversationally after taking my first shot. The ball zooms down the artificial green as Torment gets things lined up for himself. To be honest, neither of us is very good at mini golf either, but it’s the perfect place for a first date.

“I am,” Paisley says. “I have a B.A. in business, but photography is my real passion. I did a few apprenticeships during college, and now I work for a tabloid magazine, as you know,” she says with a wry smile.

“Is that what you want to do long-term?” Torment asks after putting his ball down the green.

Paisley giggles a bit and thinks for a moment.

“Not even close. My dream is to be a nature photographer, like the ones who work for National Geographic and Wildlife Conservation. But it’s a hard business to break into, and it’s tough to land a job like that straight out of college. I’m hoping to build my portfolio for a while until someone’s willing to take a chance on me.”

“Wait a minute,” Torment says with a droll smile. “So stalking people at the gym isn’t a daily occurrence for you?” he jokes.

Paisley flushes. “No, not even a little bit. Again, I’m so sorry for what happened, and to be honest, I usually avoid the gym at all costs. Sweating and straining among all that iron? Nope, that’s not me at all. Can’t you tell by my generous figure?” she quips while motioning to her hips and stomach. Her sundress is flirty and somewhat loose-fitting, but I can still make out her curves. Then again, I’ll never forget what Paisley looks like without any clothes on, so the fabric is useless. The image of those lush breasts, her big bottom, and the glistening pink flesh between her thighs will forever be burned on my brain, and it gets me going even now.

But Torment and I look up from the green for a moment to throw her a stern stare.

“You’re beautiful honey,” I tell her. “And we adore your curves. You made me crazy in that tiny gym outfit you had on the other day, and I couldn’t wait to take it off you.”

Paisley blushes. “Really?”

I nod.

“Yes definitely, because it’s true. Guys like girls who are healthy with feminine roundness, like the way you are.”

She giggles a bit, her cheeks flushing pink.

“Oh, I don’t know about that. It just seems that everyone prefers stick-thin girls these days, and the skinnier the better. But much good that’s going to do me because I can’t lose weight even when I try! I’ve been to the gym so many times, but I’m really uncoordinated, so exercising is a challenge for me.”

Torment frowns.

“Anyone can be an athlete, baby girl. You just haven’t found the right activity yet. For example, for my brother and me, it was fighting, but for you, it’s probably something different. Maybe you’ll like yoga or tennis. Hell, maybe you’ll even want to be a synchronized swimmer!”

Paisley giggles with amusement, her generous bosom bouncing up and down. “That’ll never happen because I’m terrible when it comes to the water. I’m scared to put my head in sometimes!”

I grin.

“Okay, maybe not synchronized swimming then, but you’ll find something you love to do. After all, you’re an aspiring nature photographer, right? So how about hiking?” Torment asks. “It helps if you can meld your passion with a type of exercise.”

The pretty brunette thinks for a moment.

“I do love hiking, actually, especially when I have my best cameras with me.”

“See?” I wink. “Everyone’s athletic. You just have to find the right milieu, that’s all.”

Paisley considers this for a second. “Yeah, I think you’re right, but I’ve always struggled with body image stuff. It doesn’t help that I work for a tabloid, so I’m always taking pictures of stick-thin celebrities who work out constantly and subsist on lettuce leaves.”

My brother nods.

“It’s all about the mindset, honey. Every time you go for a hike, remember that it’s still considered a workout and you’re burning calories just like any other activity. But the beauty of hiking is that you don’t have to think about it. You get to be out in nature, among the trees, sunshine, and animals.”
