The front door opened and shut and I turned to look at Blayze. We both smiled.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “We can pick this up later if you…”

“Yes. I do…want to do that. With you. Later.”

He laughed. “Good. Because I want to do that with you too.”

My face heated.

“You’re sure you’re not too tired for the party?” he asked.

“I promise.” I bit my lip, suddenly remembering the article. Would he feel more betrayed now that we had kissed? “I need to talk to you about something, though.”

He nodded. “Okay. We can talk later.”

“Okay, but it’s important and...” I looked down at the floor then back up at him. Before I could say anything else, Morgan burst back into the room.

“We’re totally the same size, and I have four dresses in here,” Morgan announced as she held up a dress bag.

Blayze chuckled. “I thought you said you brought two.”

“Two for me, and two for Georgie. I figured she wouldn’t have anything formal with her. Come on, Georgie! You’re in my room, right?”

“I am. Let me grab my boots off the front porch.”

Morgan stopped and looked at me. “Why are they on the front porch?”

“My feet were killing me and the cold air felt good on them.”

Morgan chuckled. “Life on a ranch!”

“Leave them. I’ll take care of it,” Blayze said as he walked past me, his eyes practically piercing mine.

“Thanks,” I said softly, wishing his mouth was on my breasts again. He must have been able to read my mind because he raised a single brow, and I had to look away.

“Are you two done giving each other fuck-me eyes?”

“Morgan!” Blayze and I said in unison.

She shrugged. “What? It was so obvious when I walked in. The heavy breathing. Blayze making a beeline to the bar. His T-shirt on inside out and your kiss-swollen lips,” she said as she pointed at me. “Please. I totally interrupted something. Don’t deny it.”

“Fine, we won’t deny it,” Blayze said.

I turned to look at him, my mouth agape.

He shrugged. “What? She clearly knows, so why pretend?”

Morgan smiled. “Oh my God! Are you two sleeping together?”

“No!” I quickly answered.

“Not yet, thanks to you,” Blayze said.

My face instantly felt like it was on fire.

Morgan let out a little squeal. “I know what dress you’re wearing tonight, Georgiana! Come on! We need to get you showered and not looking like…death.”

I jerked my head back as Blayze laughed. When Morgan turned and headed upstairs, I started after her, only to have Blayze pull me back to him and kiss me once more. And yet again, I melted into him.

He drew back slowly. “Don’t wear panties tonight.”

My eyes went wide. “What?”

With a wink, he headed out the door to the front porch.

“Georgiana!” Morgan yelled. “We have work to do!”

Chapter Fourteen

BLAYZE

“Morgan!” I called out as I looked at the clock for the sixth time. “We’re going to be late!”

“One second! Beauty takes time, Blayze!”

Rolling my eyes, I walked over to the bar and poured myself a small drink of bourbon. When I heard Morgan clear her throat, I glanced up and smiled.

“When did you grow up to be such a beautiful young woman?”

She blushed. “You have to say that, you’re my brother.”

“I don’t have to say it, and being your brother doesn’t make it any less true. You look beautiful, squirt.”

Morgan did a spin. “I know I brought my own dresses, but isn’t it beautiful? It belongs to Georgiana. She bought it in Paris, Blayze. Paris! And she’s letting me wear it. This is all embroidered lace with a handkerchief hem. The shoes are mine! They match the dress perfectly, don’t they?”

I swept my gaze over my sister, taking in her champagne-colored lace dress. It looked stunning on her, and I made a note to make sure I saw it on Georgie at some point.

“Georgie wasn’t going to wear it?” I asked.

Morgan smiled. “She wanted me to. She’s wearing one of the dresses I brought. It’s an off-the-shoulder chiffon dress I bought a few months ago when Mom and I went to New York. Wait until you see her.”

“I’m sure she looks…”

I trailed off as Georgie started down the steps. My eyes nearly popped out of my head at the sight before me. The dress was light blue and fit her body perfectly. I loved that she had curves, and I couldn’t wait to get my eyes on the rest of her naked body. I wanted to study every inch of her.

Morgan cleared her throat and pretended to hold up a microphone as she said, “And up next, we have Georgiana, who is wearing a Mac Duggal dress in dusty blue. This A-line, off-the-shoulder bodice that’s embellished with lace and crystals fits Ms. Georgiana like a glove. It helps that she has a Marilyn Monroe-style rocking body, I might add.”

I glanced over at Morgan, who was smiling at Georgie. “Notice how the bottom flares out and is longer in the back. It gives it that perfect elegant touch.”
