He unlocks our kiss to whimper, “I’m close.”

“Me too,” I hiss right back.

When we fall over the edge together, I feel every ounce of my tension release at once. His moans turn into grunts as he empties himself inside me. I cling to him tighter as I let loose between our bodies, wave after wave, spilling all over his chest as well as my own.

Our lips find each other’s in the blissful madness.

The aggression of our orgasms turns soft, fading away to our gentle kissing as we embrace the moment, coming down from our peaks.

“Fuck, that was amazing …” I whisper, so overcome by the height I just reached, I’m nearly laughing.

He grins against my face. “I’ve never felt better, Coop. I’m so happy I’m here. I’m so fucking happy.”

Then we say the rest with our tender kisses, his cock still inside me, mine resting on his abs. I realize suddenly neither one of us wants to let go. If only kisses could last forever. If only moments like these weren’t so precious and perfect that the mere idea of them ending is terrifying.

Maybe it doesn’t have to end.

Maybe the terror is just an illusion.

“I know what I want to do next,” I tell him.

It’s like he’s coming out of a dream when he replies. “What’s next? Braiding each other’s hair?”

I take hold of his hand. “Come with me.”

A moment later, the pair of us are stripped and in the shower. The water runs over us as we cuddle in the narrow stall, blanketed in steam, his back against my chest. I run the bar of soap gently over his body, cleaning every inch of his skin. With his cute butt bumping and grinding against my cock in the shower, it’s a challenge not to think about talking him into round two already—with me on top.

But then I pull out the shampoo, and as I start to lather it up in his hair, something else takes over me. That need to take care of him, to nurture him, to love on him in the way he really needs.

Here in this shower, washing with Seany, it’s the first time in a long time I realize I don’t feel that empty hole in me anymore. I need this just as much as I hope he needs me. This is what I’ve wanted all along. This, right here.

Us. Him.

As we caress in bed an hour later, fresh and clean, I hold him close as I stroke his hair. He falls asleep first, and I realize as I lie there listening to him breathe that he trusts me with all his heart. He feels safe with me. He’s happy.

He’s home.

Chapter 10 - Seany

This time, I’m making breakfast.

Pancakes, to be precise. It’s the only thing I know how to make that would impress Cooper enough. I’m the first one up, so I get right to work in the kitchen while he sleeps in. When he comes down the hall, wiping sleep out of his eyes and yawning, he blinks with surprise as he finds me at the counter, humming, and cooking up pancakes.

He might also be reacting to the fact that I found an apron in the closet, which I swiftly put on before getting to work on breakfast.

And other than the skimpy apron, I’m kinda naked.

I give him a coy glance over my shoulder. “Morning. Ready for the best pancakes you’ve ever had?”

He grins. “Well, damn, if this is any indication of what my Sunday is about to be like …”

I give him a wink. “Take a seat. Pancakes will be ready soon.”

He’s about to learn this is more than just an indication of his day.

I want to make every moment amazing.

After filling our bellies with pancakes, the rest of the morning is spent lounging together on the couch, with the TV on, the breeze seeping in through the windows making the curtains dance, as we share random stories with each other about our lives. All of our walls are down. Nothing is off limits. I even tell him about the fact that I wet the bed until I was thirteen—a mortifying fact—and he admitted to me that someone pantsed him at a school dance freshman year and the whole school saw his junk.

We crack each other up.

We grow close with every secret shared.

Then we kiss and get lost in each other’s lips for too long and forget whatever it is we were planning to do.

Is this how every day of our lives together could be?

He introduces me to each plant he keeps on his back porch, which I noticed, but never asked about. He teaches me what he does to care for each one every day, and as he shares nerdy little factoids about them, I realize there’s a reason he’s telling me this at all.
