Ugh.

Flopping back down over him, I buried my face against the couch.

“Yes, Sir.”

I might agree with him but that didn’t mean I was going to be a good sub about it.

****

“What do you say if you don’t like the sensation and you want to stop?” Leif’s question would’ve been easier to answer if I were dressed and he wasn’t looking so sternly sexy.

“Um. I safeword.” Yes, or he’d lose his mind. “I promise to safeword if I’m struggling for any reason.”

That was easy to promise because he’d be impossible to live with if I did something stupid like suffer in silence.

“What do you do if your pup side is having a problem but you don’t want to use words?” His tone said he wasn’t going to let up until I’d given him the right answer no matter how weird it was being naked when he was fully clothed.

He didn’t seem to care that it was distractingly erotic…or maybe he just hadn’t noticed? Leif was kind of preoccupied with the pup stuff and making sure we did it right.

Air in.

Air out.

I could do it.

“I tip the bell over.” Nodding to the Christmas bell on the coffee table that I’d gotten from a part-time job as an elf at the mall a few years ago, I took a deep breath. “That will let you know that I’m having a problem or that something needs to change.”

We’d gone over it so many times I’d almost forgotten how weird and embarrassing the whole situation was.

And erotic.

Yep, I’d almost forgotten.

My dick wouldn’t let either of us completely ignore that.

“Good boy.” Leif finally looked like he was ready to trust that I wouldn’t do anything stupid and nodded. “Alright, remember, I’m going to give simple orders as I get you ready, then we’ll play or you can have pets. There’s no right or wrong way for us to play or for you to be a pup.”

He’d said that repeatedly too…so many times I actually believed him.

“Yes, Sir.” I could do this. “We’re going to explore it. There’s no right or wrong. You’re in charge. I have fun.”

I just had to keep reminding myself that he knew about the fantasy and hadn’t run screaming, and he’d already made me come, so me getting hard or orgasming wouldn’t be a shock either.

Kissing my forehead and giving me a smile that made me squirm even more, he glanced down to the floor where he’d laid an old comforter out for me. “Down, pup.”

Simple orders.

Just have fun.

I could do that.

There might’ve been something to the simple instructions idea because I could feel the stress in me easing as I lowered myself to the floor even though I should’ve felt ridiculous.

“Good boy, pup.” Leif leaned down and rubbed my head and something about the interaction had me closing my eyes and letting out a sigh. “Yes, such a good pup.”

He didn’t seem to be in a rush and just petted my head and rubbed my back as I rested on all fours. It felt like I was catching my breath and he was right there with me to help. He mumbled soft praise and kept running his hands over me like it was all perfectly normal, and at some point, it stopped being weird.

“That’s right, pup. I’ve got you.” Leif’s hand stroked over my head and his voice seemed to be filled with praise like he really was proud of me and we were in it together. “Such a good pup. Just like the other pups who run around and play. You like them.”

I did.

They were happy and nothing made them stressed.

No one sent them demanding emails about stupid things they didn’t understand to begin with.

They played and got pets and snuggles.

“There we go. Yes, you’re such a good pup.”

Oh.

“Such a handsome pup.” Leif’s tone was somehow more soothing as he fastened the hood, and I just tried to focus on that sound as he methodically got me ready. “You look so good, pup.”

A whine unconsciously slipped out and it was probably a sound I’d have made as a nervous human but now it seemed decidedly puppyish.

“I know. This is different, pup, but just think about the other pups running around and playing.” Leif’s hands smoothed over me until he lifted one hand and slipped the mitt over it. “They chase the balls and each other. They wag their tails and they bark.”

I wasn’t sure I was at the barking stage, but I whined again and leaned into his touch as he wrapped his arms around me. “That’s right, pup. They cuddle too.”

Master seemed to like cuddling too because he stayed wrapped around me as he put on the other mitt and my knee pads.

“You’d be the cutest pup there.” Master’s hands ran down my back and over my arms and legs. He made everything else feel far away and all I could focus on was his voice and the images of the pups running around in my head. “Even the other excitable one wouldn’t hold a candle to my pup.”
