“New plan,” Fox panted. He lifted his mouth just enough to speak, but Winter took that as a sign that he needed to slide his tongue down Fox’s throat. His human teeth nibbled along his flesh, and that only made Fox groan with the reminder that Winter had pointy vampire teeth he liked to use when he was coming. “Just fuck me here. Need you now.”

“Yes,” Winter snarled. The hands rubbing down his spine suddenly started pulling at the hem of his shirt, trying to get to naked skin.

Before they could get it over Fox’s head, an alarm screamed throughout the loft. They both froze for a second, and then Winter cursed.

“What? What is it?” Fox demanded while praying it was an alarm for a delivery guy or maybe the mailman. Something they could just ignore.

“It’s an alert that my brother has used his code to enter the garage.”

“What?” Fox repeated, his voice becoming high and squeaky. Oh, hell no! This was not happening.

“We have to stop. It’s likely my entire family is here to check you out.”

“We can’t stop! Blue balls is a serious medical condition. There’s no stopping now!” There was some small part of Fox’s brain that was still getting limited blood flow, and it realized he was talking nonsense, but Fox was well beyond caring.

Winter gave him a look that made it clear he wasn’t any happier about this development. “What am I supposed to do?”

“I don’t know,” Fox whined. There was no denying it was a whine. His dick hurt. His balls hurt. His lips hurt, and there were little sore spots on his neck where Winter hid bitten him a few times. He didn’t want any of that to stop.

“It’s probably fucking karma,” Winter muttered under his breath.

“Why?”

Winter shook his head before he carefully unhooked Fox’s legs from around him and stepped backward, putting some much-needed space between them. Each passing second helped to clear Fox’s head. But clear thoughts brought the realization that he was about to meet a lot of Variks—vampires who thought he was destined to kill them.

“I’ll greet them. You might want to…” Winter’s voice drifted off and he waved one hand a bit absently at Fox. “Kind of pull yourself together a little. You look like you’ve been mauled.”

Fox snorted as he jumped down and straightened his shirt. “I was mauled, and I loved every fucking second of it.” He stepped close to Winter again and poked him in the chest. “And no matter what is said while your family is here, we are going upstairs, and you are fucking my brains out the second they are gone. You got me?”

The glow returned to Winter’s eyes in an instant and he smiled, showing just a hint of fangs. “Agreed.”

Fox marched out of the kitchen and up to the guest room, confident that he was never going to get rid of his goddamn hard-on.

Chapter 13

Winter cursed himself and his incredibly shitty luck as he stood in the kitchen alone, gripping the edge of the counter. Of course Fox could kiss like he was trying to tongue Winter’s fucking soul. And Winter had never wanted him to stop kissing or moaning or that delicious little squirm he did that rubbed their bodies together.

He wasn’t even going to lie to himself and say it was good that they stopped.

Fuck. That. Shit.

The second his family was out of his house, he was tossing Fox over his shoulder and carrying him to the first bed he could find. He needed inside that man, needed to feel him moving and hear him screaming Winter’s name in pleasure.

This had to be karmic payback for interrupting Bel with his wolves a few months ago. It wasn’t like Winter had tried to intrude on a sexy moment, and Bel had never said he was intruding, but it had only taken one look to know that Winter had arrived at a really bad time.

Right now, his main worry was his family overwhelming Fox and making him feel bad about his supposed part in this prophecy or his powers.

Shit!

His family didn’t know about the ghosts.

Shoving away from the counter, Winter raced up the stairs. He only had a couple of minutes between his brothers pulling into the garage, parking, and climbing to the second floor. He barged straight into Fox’s room without knocking on the door. The man was standing by the bed shirtless, a collared shirt on a hanger in his hands.

“Out! I just got everything to start settling down. I’m not your fucking yo-yo!” Fox snapped, pointing toward the door.

“No, it’s not that. The ghosts.”

Fox stiffened, his face instantly shifting from frustration to worry. “What? Can you see them again?” He dropped the shirt onto the bed and started patting on his chest. “Did I like…turn off or something when we were kissing?”
