Syn debated if he needed to tell his Lieutenants that he was involved with one of Illustra’s entertainers; although Furi did say he was quitting. Syn loved a person with ambition and drive. Furi had removed himself from a bad situation with his husband and instead of letting it destroy him, he handled it with strength and worked hard to achieve something for himself. Syn could respect a man like that all day long. Furious was going to be a business owner.

Syn had to get this case solved, fast. When he took this job, he didn’t think he would have to deal with so many dead bodies.

Syn checked his watch again and huffed when he noticed he’d been waiting for forty-five minutes. The receptionist looked up from her persistent typing and gave him an apologetic smile. He got up and went out into the hall to call Furious. The beat officers had already called and told him there was no activity all night. Syn had released a sigh of relief at the call. He wouldn’t let Furious get hurt if he could help it. He made a mental note to ask the Magistrate for a favor to get a temporary restraining order for Furi’s husband.

His cell buzzed on his hip. Speaking of ..."Hey you,” Syn spoke softly into the phone, his voice already filled with lust from thinking about the man.

“Hey yourself. How’s everything going?” Furi’s deep, sexy voice was like melted butter over a hot, fresh baked roll. So perfect.

“It’s okay.” Syn released a soft breath.

“You sound tired, Syn.”

Syn’s chest constricted at the concern in Furi’s voice. Then of course, the sound of his name on the man’s lips made him feel like he was important to him. “Yeah. I’m a little tired, but it comes with the territory. Are you okay? Have you heard anything?”

“My lawyer said my ex called his office threatening his life. Not mine, necessarily. I guess he’s saving that for the grand finale.” Syn could hear the nervousness in Furi’s voice.

“I want you to get a restraining order. I’m not concerned with your lawyer’s usual procedure. I don’t want this guy anywhere near you.” Syn berated himself for using that authoritative tone. Did he really have a right to demand anything of Furi? He hardly knew him. They’d only fooled around a bit. What if Furi was trying to get his ex's attention by having him served? What if Furi wanted to give him another chance, see if the guy had changed?

“Hey you,” Furi threw back at him. “I can hear your mind turning from here.

“It’s nothing,” Syn huffed. You know what? Fuck it. “Are you busy tonight?”

“I’m working on my final but after that I’m free.” Furi’s voice dropped to a low bass when he asked, “Did you have something in mind, Syn?”

Syn looked down the hall to be sure no one was coming before adjusting his rising cock, groaning into the receiver.

“Mmm, very nice. I already know what’s on your mind. Good, cause it’s on mine too. Been thinking about your cock in my mouth all fuckin’ morning.”

“Furious,” Syn growled.

“I’m right here. Tell me what you want, Syn.”

Syn hesitated. Furious wasn’t messing with him. This was it, the real deal. Damn. Am I ready to fuck a man? Syn had watched gay porn, he knew the basics, but that’s all he knew. Syn had only fucked women, but so help him, he wanted nothing more than to fuck Furious until he yelled out in that deep voice.

“You’re making me wait too long, Syn. Are we on the same page or not?” Furious’ voice was firm and clipped, and it made Syn’s stomach drop and his cock rise.

“Yeah were on the same page,” he whispered.

“Good. Text me your address.”

Syn stood in the middle of the hall looking lost. His mouth was parted so he could take in a little extra oxygen. He felt like he was suffocating. He wanted Furious there with him right now. His long hair hanging down over his face, staring him in the eyes. Pressing their foreheads together while clutching his hips, forcing him to move. Dark eyes boring into–

“Syn!” Furi snapped, causing Syn to jump and almost drop his phone.

Syn cleared his throat, “Yes, I’m here.”

“Text me the address, now.”

“Sergeant Sydney, your warrant is ready,” came the voice from down the hall.

Syn looked back toward the Magistrate’s office and saw the petite secretary standing there, holding the warrant in her hand. Syn covered the receiver and thanked her.

“Furi, I’m texting you the address now.”

“Fine. I’ll be there at eight.” Furi paused and Syn listened to the silence. “And Syn.”

“Yeah.”

“Be ready.” Furi disconnected their call.

Syn yanked at the growth on top of his head. Fuck. Am I ready? Shit. I wasn’t ready with Rhodes, and he left.

‘Date Night’

Furious thought about asking Doug for a ride to Syn’s after meeting with the property manager about leasing their garage space, but decided to have him drop him off at the pub. Furi was in the best mood he’d been in in months. He was finally graduating from school, nine months of intense studying and training was at last going to pay off. He wasn’t going to have to work in someone else’s garage, making money for them. No, he would have his own, well; joint owned shop, fulfilling the promise he’d made to his father before he passed.
