Then, one hand on my hip, the other moving up to grab a handful of my hair, he slammed forward, claiming me to the hilt with one thrust.

There was no time to adjust to the invasion, his size.

There was just accepting.

Just taking.

Just enjoying the savage way his cock claimed me, taking every inch of me with each thrust forward, his hands holding me captive so I couldn't move as his pace got harder, faster.

My whimpers became ragged moans that hurt the back of my throat as the sounds of his body slamming into mine met it, making it clear to everyone in the goddamn building that Edison was making me his in every way possible as his hands released me, one going around me to stroke over my clit as his grumbling growl in his chest told me he was getting close.

The other moved to my ass, slapping it hard once before I felt the fingers sliding inward, his thumb circling me for a second before pressing inside, claiming me fully.

It was seconds after that, my body starved for release for too long, his fingers expertly demanding a triple zone orgasm that made the world go black for a second as my voice got strangled in my throat with the first overwhelming pulsation of release.

It came back on a scream of his name as the waves crashed, hard, fast, unrelenting, seeming to go on forever as Edison kept fucking my pussy, my ass, as his finger kept working my clit, dragging it out, milking it for all it was worth before slamming so hard forward that my entire front smashed against the wall, my name growling from deep in his chest as he finally let go.

As I fought for my breath, for pieces of my brain to come back together, pinned to the wall by his body, I realized he needed it as much as I did.

The release.

I might have been the one who had been grieving.

But he had been the one right beside me through it, handling all the things I couldn't - or wouldn't - handle myself, worrying about me, comforting me.

It had to have taken a toll on him as well.

Because he had fucked me roughly before.

But nothing like this.

This was him losing every bit of control he normally possessed over himself.

I guess it had taken an inhuman amount of self-control to deal with me over the past few days. He had to have been wound up tight too.

This was cathartic for both of us.

"Try to tell me again that I barely know you," he said in my ear, his voice somehow both soft and firm at the same time. "Try to fucking lie to me again."

"I didn't mean it that way, Edison," I assured him. "It's just... new. You don't do things like that when things are so new."

"I did." There was a pause, then his head shifted, placing his chin on my shoulder. "Lenny, I wanted to do it. I did it. Can we just let it go?"

My breath exhaled out of me slowly, seeming to take my resistance with it. "Don't spend money on me like that again," I conceded.

"Don't figure you would ever let me," he said, sounding amused.

"Well that's true," I agreed, feeling an odd little burst of sadness when he pulled away from me.

Hearing him walk toward the bedroom and through to the bath, I reached down to snag my panties and pants, dragging them back on, then finding my shirt as well.

Edison walked back a minute later, pants back on but still without his shirt since it was on the floor beside where I was standing pressed against the wall, still not fully trusting my legs to carry me yet.

"Guess I should get used to arguing with you, huh?" he asked, running a hand across my lower lip before moving back toward the kitchen to finish what I had interrupted.

"If you plan on sticking around, then yes, a lot of fucking arguing."

"Figured," he said, nodding with his back to me. But hearing me move closer, he turned again, pinning me with those intense eyes of his. "And for the record, I'm not going fucking anywhere. We got something good going here. I have no plans on losing that."

And for maybe the first time, his words and my heart were on the same page.

FOURTEEN

Lenny

I went back to work the next day, figuring that I could stand around doing nothing there instead of home, but get paid for it. Bills were piling up. Life had to go on. No matter how weird it felt for that to happen with such a piece of me missing.

"Len," Meryl greeted me with that voice. Anyone who had ever heard it knew it. That mix of pity and insecurity, like they were sorry, but didn't know what to say.
