“Ah, fuck,” he muttered, then came. “Goddamnit.”

She hid her giggle against his chest. After a moment, she glanced back up at him. “You didn’t want to come?”

“Not that fast. Fuck no.”

She patted his chest. “But I came, so you’re good.”

No, he wasn’t “good.” He just blew his load in less than a minute. There was nothing good about that. Not only because it was embarrassing but because he wanted to enjoy being inside her longer.

“Next time you’ll last longer.”

Next time? “Yeah,” he said, keeping his voice steady. Though he really wanted to fist bump her instead since she just announced there was going to be a “next time.”

She slipped off him and to his side, her head still on his chest, her hand planted on his gut.

Damn, her cuddling against him felt good. He ripped the condom off, knotted it and dropped it to the floor.

“That’s gross.”

“What?”

“Dropping that on the floor!” she exclaimed in disgust.

“Where you want me to put it?”

“In the trash.”

“It’ll get there... eventually. Ain’t movin’ right now.”

“Why?”

“’Cause you’re in my bed. Don’t wanna miss a second of it.”

She jerked against him. “I... I don’t know what to say to that,” she breathed.

“Don’t say nothin’. Just enjoy it.” He curled his fingers around the back of her head and pressed her closer to him.

His heart thumped heavily in his chest at the thought of her sleeping next to him every night.

He closed his eyes. What was he thinking? He hardly knew the woman. And she didn’t come from his world.

He’d been there, done that. And didn’t even have a fucking T-shirt to show for it.

Once he helped get her daughter back, he was sure she’d be on her way. Marching right back out of his life. Living above a strip club was no place for a kindergarten teacher and her young daughter.

“I know I asked a lot of questions earlier... but I need to ask a couple more.”

A lot of questions? The woman could rattle them off like a machine gun.

He combed his fingers through her hair, smoothing the silky strands across his chest. “Shoot.”

“One of the ladies—”

Dawg snorted loudly.

She whacked him lightly and started again. “Jewel asked if I’m your house mouse.”

Dawg tilted his head down to study Emma. “Did she now?”

“Yes. Am I?”

“She tell you what a house mouse was?”

“Yes.”

“Brothers don’t normally sleep with their house mouse. Though, sometimes shit happens... but, no, ain’t my house mouse. Hired you to be the hostess for my club. Wanna cook me a meal, ain’t gonna say no. Wanna scrub the toilet, ain’t gonna stop you. But, baby girl, that ain’t required. Just like bein’ in my bed ain’t, either. Want you here ‘cause you wanna be, not because you hafta be.”

“Well, I have to admit the sex has been nice.”

“Nice?”

“Yes, nice,” she answered on a soft sigh.

“Just nice?”

“Well, it was a little quick.” She smirked up at him.

Dawg frowned. “But you’re gonna let me make it up to you.” He wasn’t asking her; he was telling her. He wasn’t giving her the chance to change her mind. He might be a stupid fuck when it came to this woman, but he wasn’t that stupid.

“Yes, I’d like that,” she said softly.

Dawg grinned up at the ceiling. “While you’re here, want you in my bed every night, baby girl. You okay with that?”

“Yes. I’d like that, too.”

His grin widened to a smile. “Don’t ever feel obligated. The minute you want out, you tell me. Ain’t forcin’ myself on nobody.”

She pressed a light kiss on his chest. “Okay. I’ll let you know the second I’m done with you.”

He jerked his head up to stare at her and her body began to shake. “Think you’re funny.”

A cute little snort escaped her. “No.”

“Yeah, you do.”

She sobered. “I have another question. What happened with the discussion with Diesel? Can he help?”

With a sigh, he relaxed back against the pillow again. “Got D workin’ on it. He’ll pull through. His crew’s good.”

“He has a crew? What does he do?”

“Runs a security company.”

“Security. Like alarm systems?”

“Not quite. Though he’s good at installin’ ‘em. Did the system downstairs for the club. But he’s moved on from shit like that. Has built a crew that’s got a lotta skills. They get shit done. Like I said before, they can find people who don’t wanna be found.”

“Sounds expensive.”

“Again, you ain’t payin’ for it.”

“But you are.”

Dawg didn’t say anything for a moment. He and D hadn’t talked payment since the man usually did shit for the brothers for nothing. However, Emma was an outsider and he wasn’t sure if D would cover it or expect Dawg to. But he would. He’d cover D’s expenses without a doubt, because he was sure that was going to cost a shit ton. Diesel was planning on sending at least two of his guys to talk to the PI that Emma used. Then from there pick up the trail where the PI quit once Emma had run out of funds.
