“We ride out at lunchtime, and Bull has brought a few of our Mississippi brothers along for it.”

He climbs out of bed, and my skin immediately pebbles at the loss of his body heat.

“They’ll be bringing their old ladies too,” he adds.

“A ride sounds like fun,” I say.

Nestling my head into the pillow, I watch him walk across the room and soak in his muscular body as he dresses. He’s covered in ink and thick layers of muscle, and as he pulls on his tight underwear, his semi-hard cock sways heavily between his thighs.

Once he’s put on his jeans, he straightens and gives me a big smile that sends a bundle of tingles straight to my clit.

“Ready to meet some more of my brothers?”

The Mississippi Chapter walks into the clubhouse bringing buzzing energy with them. I watch over Doc’s shoulder as five men and three women greet their fellow Kings of Mayhem family with all the bravado and teasing you would expect from a close group.

The tallest is their president. He’s wearing dark sunglasses, and there’s something otherworldly about his good looks. When Doc introduces me to him, he removes his glasses, and I feel my mouth open in surprise when I see his unholy blue eyes. It’s like they’re magical, and he can see right through me. He smiles, but it is guarded, and I have no doubt Jack has told Bull all about me and who my father is.

Beside him is Ruger, who I learn is the sergeant-at-arms for the Mississippi Chapter. He has intense green eyes and a slight frown on his face like he’s always thinking and watching, and I get the feeling not a lot gets past him.

The other three men all share the same dark hair, bright blue eyes, and dimples. And they’re all hot as hell.

Cade, Caleb, and Chance are the president’s nephews, and Ruger is their brother-in-law by his marriage to their sister, Chastity.

Doc introduces me to the old ladies. “Lily, this is Indy, Taylor, and Chastity.”

The queens are badass but friendly, and I sit with them and Bronte at a booth while the men catch up over by the bar.

Dolly brings over a round of beers, but I stick to soda. Bronte gives me a curious look, and her eyes linger on me before turning away.

“Honey is really disappointed to miss out on the visit, but she’s pregnant and didn’t feel up to the ride,” Indy says.

“She’s pregnant again?” Bronte asks. “How many is that?”

“We’ve lost count,” all three queens say in unison.

“My brother and his wife want a big family,” Chastity explains.

“What she means to say is they fuck like rabbits and have hundreds of kids to show for it,” Indy says.

Chastity screws up her nose. “Ewww, please, I don’t need to think of my brother and his wife that way.”

Indy affectionately bumps her shoulder against Chastity’s and gives her a big grin.

“So… are you Doc’s girlfriend?” Chastity asks.

“Oh, no… we’re just friends. I mean, we… it’s just … there’s been no time to talk…” I’m stuttering because I don’t know what we are. It’s been four months since I pushed him out the door of the UFO Hotel, and a lot has happened between then and now. It’s not like we’ve really talked about it yet. Then I think about the sex we had last night, and then again this morning, and it feels more than just something casual. “I don’t know if we’re together or not.”

The queens share a look before they turn back to me and say together, “Yep, you’re together.”

“That’s how it usually goes,” Indy explains. “One minute, you’re friends. Next thing you know, they’re the love of your life.”

“I think things are a little more complicated than that,” I reply.

“Oh, please, complications are the keystones to every King’s relationship. I spent more than a decade apart from my husband because of a big misunderstanding, and only saw him again because my daddy died, and I had to come back to town for the funeral,” Indy says. “Then he flew halfway across the country to chase me home again.”

“And mine broke all the rules and stood up to my uncle to be with me,” says Chastity.

“Mine didn’t want to touch me because I was his brother’s best friend and fifteen years younger than him,” Bronte says.

“And I was once the goddaughter of my husband’s biggest rival,” Taylor adds.

“There are always complications when you date a King.” Indy takes a sip of her beer. “But it’s what those complications turn into that is the amazing stuff.”

I already feel that whatever Doc and I have is amazing.

Is there really a chance this is going to work out for us?

“My father is Max Stonecypher,” I blurt out.

I wait for the reaction, for the hardened expressions or the sudden shift in attitude toward me, but none of it happens. The queens just stare back at me like they’re waiting for me to continue with more.
