“Is that your subtle way of offering me a ride?” I asked as he shut the judge’s door and scanned the outer office, probably checking to make sure everything looked the way it should so nobody would suspect that he’d been here.

He speared me with his dark gaze. “Are you gonna walk past that security guard without saying a word and meet me at my bike?”

“That depends…do you have a good reason for being here?” I toyed with the rim of my glasses, holding my breath while I waited for his answer.

He nodded. “Yeah, a damn good one.”

“Then I guess you’re my ride home.” At his grimace, I tilted my head to the side and narrowed my eyes. “If not home, then where?”

“My clubhouse. Not sure it’s safe for you to go home at the moment, and I’m sure you’ve got more questions for me.”

Not only had he brought my dormant libido to life, he’d also piqued my curiosity. “We should introduce ourselves since it sounds as though we’re going to be spending a little more time together. I’m Oakley Collins.”

“You’re too damn sweet for your own good, Oakley Collins.” Before he zipped his leather jacket back up, he patted the other side of his vest. “I’m Kendrick Lawson, but everyone calls me Doc.”

During the whole ride to the clubhouse, I kept coming up with reasons I should turn the fuck around and take this sweet thing home. What was I supposed to do with an innocent girl like her? Other than fuck her, I silently muttered to my aching cock.

I was jaded, an asshole most of the time, and when she found out what I did for a living, she would most likely run for the hills anyway.

But with her soft body pressed into the back of mine, her arms wrapped around my chest, and her thighs plastered to my legs…I came up with just as many reasons to keep her. She needed someone to protect her, especially being so trusting while working for scum like Timkins. Besides, I needed to make sure she kept her mouth shut…and there were plenty of ways to accomplish that.

Then there was the fact that she was the first woman to tempt me in the slightest in longer than I could remember. And I didn’t just want her…I craved her. Even with the wind whipping around us, her smell filled my lungs, intensifying my hunger to taste her.

As the compound came into view, my thoughts shifted to the club. Prez would be so fucking pissed. I’d just kidnapped someone for a flimsy reason, even if she’d been willing to get on my bike because she didn’t realize she wouldn’t be leaving the clubhouse anytime soon. And taking her was bound to be a big deal since she worked for the judge. If it ever got out that she’d been taken by a Silver Saint, it could cost the club in reputation and revenue. I tried to focus on that, telling myself I’d just make sure she stayed quiet and then take her home. Mac would still be pissed, but he’d get over it.

Except…I already knew I wasn’t going to give her up.

I slowed my bike as I neared the guard shack at the entrance. Cash was on duty, and he raised an eyebrow when he spotted my passenger. “Talked to Grey,” he drawled as we came to a stop. I’d turned off my earpiece when I confronted Oakley, then only turned it back on to tell him I was out and on my way home. “Didn’t mention that you took a hostage. Mac know you brought her here?”

I gave him a stony stare that was all the confirmation he needed. Then he opened his mouth with a spark in his eye that told me he was about to make some smart-ass remark that I would normally ignore, but in my current state, I’d probably slam my fist into his face.

“Don’t,” I growled.

He must have picked up on my mood, because he just smiled and gave us a jaunty salute before opening the gate. The drive to the clubhouse from the gate was only a few minutes, but by the time I parked in one of the spots out front, I’d stopped wavering, and came to a definite decision.

After kicking the stand down, I shut off the engine and pocketed the key in my leather pants. I’d given Oakley my jacket to wear and suppressed a smile at how adorable she looked swimming in it. Gently, I unbuckled the helmet on her head and lifted the visor so I could take her glasses off her face. Then I removed the helmet, letting all of her silky, dark brown hair fall around her shoulders, before brushing her bangs away and setting the spectacles back on her pert little nose.
