I smiled at him, and his eyes went from my mouth to my eyes, then back again.

“Thank you,” I said to him.

“You’re gonna wear a leather jacket,” he ordered.

I blinked, looking at his vest.

“Really?” I asked, touching the material.

He snorted.

“You won’t ever wear that,” he said. “That’s only for club members. I was talking about this one.”

He pointed to the jacket that he’d pulled out of his saddle bags at some point.

It was wrinkled, but nothing that wouldn’t straighten out once I had it on.

Picking up the jacket, I slipped it onto my shoulders, surprised to see how well it fit.

“Where’d you get this?” I asked.

His lips tightened and he shook his head.

My stomach dropped when Ridley turned without another word and mounted the bike, this time not offering his hand.

Butterflies took flight in my belly as I mounted behind him, then scooted up until we were touching all over the place once again.

This time, though, I felt like maybe I wasn’t wanted.

And when I put my arms around his waist, his belly became so hard and unyielding that I instantly got the feeling that I should take my hands away.

But when I tried, he stopped me before I could move by grabbing my wrist and forcibly holding me there until I got the point.

Which I did…eventually.

I wasn’t the least bit excited anymore. I was annoyed.

And I had to endure another five hours on the back of his bike, when I could tell he didn’t want me there.

Fucking perfect.

Chapter 10

We want to be adults so bad, that one day we’ll grow up and actually be them. And then wish we were kids again, because the adult life ain’t no fucking joke.

-Ridley’s secret thoughts

Ridley

I could tell she was mad at me.

Before we split off from the boys, I could sense the distance between us, even though we were as close as ever.

Her body was still plastered to mine and had been for the last five hours.

She’d only said one word to me the entire trip home and that was to say she’d needed to use the restroom an hour and a half ago.

When I’d pulled over at a rest station, she’d gone inside and come back out in less than five minutes, not saying a thing the entire time.

Now there we were, pulling up in front of her house.

What did she do?

She got off the bike, waved at me, then started walking to her front porch.

She didn’t even look back over her shoulder.

And then nothing.

Not a thanks for the ride. Not a thanks for showing up. Nothing.

“Hey!” I called her, stopping her in her tracks.

She turned, taking her helmet off of her head as she did.

Her hair was plastered to her head with sweat, and her eyes looked red.

She’d lost the sunglasses at some point, too.

When, I didn’t know, but I was sure I would be figuring it out.

Very soon.

“You forget something?” I asked her.

“Oh, sorry,” she said, taking off the leather jacket and handing it to me. “Thanks.”

Then she was turning around again and heading straight to her front door.

Without another word.

A. Fucking. Gain.

I got off my bike then, heading straight for her.

She made it into the house and had the door partially closed behind her before I stuck my boot in the door and stopped it from slamming closed.

She didn’t even notice.

She was too busy stripping her clothes off her body to hear me.

She tossed the shirt on the floor by the front entrance, then her shoes by the back of the couch.

And it was then that I realized that what I thought earlier of her place being tossed and searched was actually all Freya’s fault.

She scattered papers as she passed, humming slightly as she did, then bent over and stripped off her pants, leaving them in the middle of the kitchen.

“Stupid,” she growled, sweeping her hand in a sideways motion next to the sink, knocking all of her empty cups, plates, and bowls into the sink as she did.

“Fucking stupid,” she continued, placing both of her hands on the counter in front of her, leaning in as she did.

I smiled as I took in her panties.

They said “Wednesday’ on them in bright pink letters.

The funny thing was, was that today was actually Wednesday.

“I’m so tired,” she whispered. “So tired.”

It was then that I decided to make myself known.

“You should be,” I said lightly.

She whirled around, her blonde hair falling partially out of the ponytail that was still holding up her hair.

Somewhat, anyway.

Now it was holding up the back half of it. Lopsided.

She looked fucking cute.

So cute that I could barely keep my cock in check. It’d been raging for hours, and now I was expected to endure this, too?

I couldn’t.

Not anymore.

I had to taste her. At least a little bit.

Just. A. Taste.

I had her pinned up against the kitchen counter one second and then we were rolling around on the floor the next.
