The lower I went, the more this dank smell hit me. It was like rotten eggs and mold mixed with burnt wood. The air grew chilly too.

Yet, the stairs continued. I couldn’t see where they ended. I couldn’t see anything but darkness.

How many flights is this?

I kept descending. One hand stayed close to my gun. The other hand trailed along the cool, damp wall. The moldy, rotten egg odor grew stronger. The air became colder.

What caught me off guard was that I didn’t hear Rafael, Jean-Pierre, or Boris further down there. The only sound I captured was my heart beating in my ears.

So. . .

I glanced over my shoulder and didn’t see or hear Bald Head with Timur and the dolly.

Here we go again. Something fucked up is happening.

I kept going. I could have turned around or stopped, but. . .I just. . .kept stepping down and down into the darkness as if something lured me that way.

The walls began to close around me.

Then, I reached a massive chamber full of gold.

I opened my mouth in shock.

What’s going on?

No one else existed in the space. It was just stacks of gold everywhere—a sea of shimmering treasure. Bars piled high, reaching to the ceiling in some places. Coins filled treasure chests. Various gold jewelry was heaped together in mountains.

The light from the overhead lamps glinted off the surface of the metal, sending a thousand tiny sparkles dancing around the room.

It was a sight to behold, a true treasure trove. A never-ending supply of wealth and riches.

A feminine voice spoke in my ear. “Do you want to be rich?”

I jumped back and turned to the right.

The old woman I spotted on the porch now stood in front of me with a warm smile. She held her cane at her side.

I edged back. “W-where’s everybody?”

“Or do you want women?” She raised her cane.

The gold disappeared.

Nude women of all races, ages, and sizes filled the space. Perfume danced in the air.

My heart rushed.

What the. . ?

They licked and lapped at each other, their tongues sliding along wet flesh. They slipped their pussies along each other. They giggled and kissed. They moaned and bit their lips.

My cock jumped.

“Naw, man.” I turned around to rush back up the stairs.

But there was no way out.

Only a thick solid wall greeted me.

I was trapped in this room with these women who were touching each other. My dick grew hard as a rock. All I wanted to do was tear off my clothes and have fun.

It’s not real. It’s not real.

The old woman stepped over to me and gave me a warm smile. “Or do you want romantic love?”

Everything disappeared. The space grew empty and freezing cold.

She stood next to me and scanned the space. “Aww. You don’t know what love is. That’s why the room is now empty.”

I trembled. “W-where is everybody? W-what are you doing to me?”

“If you knew what love was, this place would be full of it.”

My hands shook. “W-what—”

“You knew what rich was. A room full of gold. You knew what sex was. Women crowded the room. But you had no idea what love was.”

“So. . .could you direct me to the nearest exit?”

She gave me a sad smile. “Maybe, I should have come to you when your father died.”

I stiffened.

“I thought you would be better off. And that girl loves you so much more than I ever could.”

“Ma’am, respectfully.” I held my hands in front of me. “I don’t know you.”

She placed the cane’s bottom back on the ground. “You’re linked to us, boy.”

“U-us?”

“I’ve tried my best to keep you away from us. Let you heal our deep wounds all on your own.”

My heart raced.

“But our blood is so attracted to your heart. Loves to be warmed by your soul. That girl made you loveable. It’s good that you had her.”

“What girl?”

“Emily and Lunita.”

“Lunita?”

“Which one do you talk to?”

“Okay. I know Emily but—”

“You have to just accept what I am saying so you won’t be confused.”

“Listen. I am very confused. Maybe, you can let me leave this place and then we can talk—”

“I tried to keep you away. I blocked you so many times.” She looked down at the ground. “But our blood just keeps coming around you, just wanting to be in your presence.”

“I’m so sorry, ma’am, but I’m not who you think I am. My name is—”

“Maxwell Remington Jones.”

“Umm. . .You have my middle name right, but. . .” Trembling, I cleared my throat. “My last name is Friday. Granted. . .my dad used to tell strangers his last name was Grady. That’s what I use now.”

“Friday?” She chuckled to herself. “That’s when your grandfather met your grandmother. It was a Black Friday. All the adults left us alone to shop. It rained from morning to night. They were alone for a long time by their selves and it wasn’t right.”
