Cameron does a double take and looks at Madison for the first time. His tight flexed body loosens a little.

“Julian found his mate when he was out,” Logan says with a soft voice. “See? He only has eyes for her. It was all a big misunderstanding after all.”

Cameron looks at Madison’s neck where I sunk my teeth into her flesh. He recognizes my mark.

“I didn’t mean to see anything, bro,” I tell him with my palms in the air. “It was all an accident.”

His heavy breathing starts to calm as he walks over to her. Even though I know he’s my older brother and obsessed with his own mate, my bear and I start to get a twitchy feeling all over when he gets close to her.

“I’m Cameron,” he says to her in a friendly voice. “And I’m so sorry that this lug is your mate.”

Madison smiles as they shake hands. “He’s not so bad.”

I take a breath of relief as I walk over to him. It’s all over. He’s not going to kill me.

“I was pissed,” Cameron says to her. “But now that I see him with you, with his mate, I know that he only has eyes for you. And he only ever did. You two look so in love.”

She’s blushing and smiling shyly as she gives me an adorable look. I freaking love this girl.

“Thank you, Cameron,” I say with a sigh of relief as I walk over with my guard down. “She really is my—”

He slams his fist into my stomach out of nowhere and I crumple in half and then fall to my knees, gasping as my lunch threatens to make a reappearance in front of everyone.

“But just in case,” he growls an inch from my gasping face. “Nobody looks at my girl but me.”

“Noted,” I say with a wince as he offers his hand. I grab it and he pulls me up to my feet.

My stomach is killing, but at least I’m alive. I still think I got off easy.

“Come,” Cameron says as he puts his heavy arm around my shoulder. “I want to hear all about it.”

My jaw drops when Madison walks out of my house, looking unbelievable in some clothes and make-up that Willow lent her.

Her hair is all done up in curls and she has a pair of tight jeans on that hugs her lusciously curvy hips. I can’t talk as she approaches. Her tits look unbelievable in a light blue shirt with a few buttons open, showing off her spectacular cleavage.

She was stunning in the mountains without any make-up and her grubby clothes, but this is something else. I have to fight back the strong urge to rush up to her, throw her over my shoulder, and carry her into our house to ravage her.

“How do I look with no dirt in my fingernails and zero twigs in my hair?” she asks with a grin as she does a little spin for me.

I’m speechless.

“You look like an angel,” I say when I find my voice. “You look like a man’s wildest dreams come true.”

She steps on her toes and kisses the bottom of my chin as I wrap my arms around her, breathing in her fruity perfume that smells much better than the bug spray she was doused in on the mountain trail.

“How about you take me into town for a nice dinner?” she asks. “I’d like to eat something that isn’t straight out of a can or cooked over a campfire.”

“You got it,” I say, wanting to give her whatever she desires.

“Should we invite your brothers? I still haven’t met Adrian.”

“And you’re not going to,” I say as I look around protectively. “He’s in the forest where he belongs.”

“He never comes out?”

“Nope.”

“But that’s not healthy. He should be around other people.”

“No, he shouldn’t,” I say with a laugh. “He should be on his own. Forever.”

“But how is he going to find his mate if he never comes out?”

“He won’t. Don’t worry, it’s better this way.”

“But how can you say that?” she asks, looking horrified. “She’s better off with him.”

“I think she’s better off staying alive,” I say with a laugh. “Trust me. No woman should go near that forest. Not even his mate. His bear is much too feral for that.”

“Oh,” she says, looking disappointed. “That’s too bad.”

I shrug. I’ve given up on Adrian a long time ago. We all have.

“Don’t worry about him. He’s happy in his own way. Now, what can I do to make you happy?”

Her mouth says restaurant, but her eyes say bedroom with the seductive way she’s looking at me.

This time when the urge hits, I don’t stop myself. I grab her and toss her over my shoulder.

“What are you doing?” she asks in a surprised tone.

I slap a hand onto her round ass, holding her against my shoulder as I walk back to our house. “Giving my mate what she wants.”
