“Just having a little fun,” I said, wiping the back of my hand under my nose, catching some of the flow of blood there. “Did anyone bring my drink?” I asked.

“Outside? No, no one brought your drink outside,” Callow said, shaking his head at me. “And the bouncer informed us that we aren’t welcome back in tonight.”

“Aw, man, did I cock-block you?” I asked, clicking my tongue. “Not a very good host, huh?” I asked, moving away from the wall to find the rest of the guys standing around, looking a mix of amused, annoyed, or disappointed.

Though, to be fair, the disappointment was mostly coming from Brooks. And I tended to disappoint him just by existing.

He was like the club dad, despite being our age, constantly judging us and finding us lacking.

“I’m out,” Brooks said, sighing, and walking back toward the clubhouse.

“What now? Move the party to the clubhouse?” Finn asked.

“With Brooks’s mood? Not a good choice,” Seth reasoned.

“We could gamble,” Finn suggested.

“Nah, man, Eamon banned me for the rest of the year,” I told them. “Apparently, the felt shit on the tables is expensive, and he didn’t appreciate me fucking a chick on top of it. Lesson learned,” I said, shrugging.

I went ahead and ignored the snort from Voss that said he didn’t believe I learned shit. Because, frankly, he was right. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

“Doesn’t Fallon’s girl have a bar?” Nave asked, still trying to catch up on the Navesink Bank world since his absence. “Why don’t we ever go there?”

“Typically, because the Vultures frequent it,” Finn explained. “But there’s no hard and fast rule that we can’t go.”

“So let’s go,” Seth said, shrugging.

I didn’t expect much.

Redemption wasn’t as busy as Chaz’s, so it seemed less likely we’d find as good a time for Callow there. But it was the only viable option, so we headed in that direction.

The inside had vastly improved since when the Vultures first took over. And, hell, you couldn’t see a single bloodstain from the massacre that happened there a while back.

There were lots of dark woods and the kind of low lighting that made it feel cozy, without being seedy. Not that I was bashing seedy. I mean, I had many a good nights drinking and shooting the shit with the dudes in that dive bar behind the liquor store. But that wasn’t the vibe Danny was going for.

She aimed for comfortable neighborhood bar and she nailed it.

It wasn’t crowded like Chaz’s was, but it definitely had its own clientele. Which seemed to be most of the criminals in the area who weren’t associated with the Mallicks the way we were.

That was the shit I was noticing.

For all of fifteen seconds.

Before I realized that it wasn’t just Toll behind the bar anymore.

Oh, no.

There was a new hire.

And fuck.

She was gorgeous.

In a very ‘Could shrink a man’s balls with a glance from one hundred yards’ kind of way. In a ‘I would rip your throat out with my teeth then spit on your corpse’ kind of way.

In other words… just my type.

Five-seven, long brown hair, hazel eyes with a lot of black shit around ‘em, light skin with a shitton of freckles over her nose, cheeks, and forehead that might make you think she was sweet and innocent, if not for the ball-shrinking eyes. Her deep red lips were set at a seemingly permanent grimace as she worked.

You look nice.

I’m not.

Oh, but I bet there was a shitton of nice under all that ice. That was how cold and closed-off women were.

And what a fucking treat it was to get a glimpse of that warm and sweet while you’re buried in her tight pussy and hearing her cry out your name.

“You done eye-fucking the bartender?” Seth asked, handing me a drink.

“If you’re not eye-fucking her, something is wrong with you.”

“Not my type,” Seth said, shrugging.

And I guess that was true.

Seth liked rounder curves.

And older women.

You had to respect a man who knew what he liked.

Me?

I liked ‘em all.

But especially the ones who didn’t want to give me the time of day, even if their eyes told a different story.

Which was why I’d signed up for a Slapshot.

Getting the taste slapped out of your mouth by the most beautiful woman you’d seen?

Yeah, that was a once-in-a-lifetime sort of experience.

“What? You haven’t gotten knocked around enough tonight?” Nave asked with a smirk as the bartender moved out from behind the bar and made her way over toward me.

It was hard to tell from behind the bar, and her uniform wasn’t putting much on display, but it wasn’t just the face that was banging.

Great tits, a nice, high ass, some curve to the hips and thighs?

That was definitely a body that looked better naked than fully clothed.

I lifted her up onto that bar, and tried not to think of what a shame it was that I couldn’t bend her over the bar and take her from behind, her hair wrapped around my fist, both of us watching our reflections on the mirrored back bar.
