“From your lips to God’s ears.”
“I think people liked getting to meet you and Sophia. The faces behind the dog park and the bus.”
She nodded. “I had a lot of fun. Thank you so much for everything you have done to make this all happen.”
“You’re the one making it happen, princess. I’m just along for the ride.”
She set her beer down with a wicked grin and crawled into my lap. “Speaking of rides.”
“I like where your thoughts are at.”
Haven pulled her shirt over her head and tossed it to the floor before helping me with mine.
“I need you, Nate. Now.”
Our hands were everywhere on each other’s bodies as we practically ripped our clothing off. Haven positioned herself over me, and when she finally slid down my length, we both let out a moan.
“You feel so good,” she whispered as she slowly rocked her body, taking me all the way in.
My hands went to her hips while I dropped my head back against the sofa. Being with Haven was one of my favorite pastimes. Every time we made love, it felt better and better. If I could live inside of her, I would.
“That’s it, baby, take what you want.”
She moved up and down as her hands cupped her breasts. I was about to explode as I watched her pinch her nipples. Leaning forward, I took one in my mouth. Haven let out a moan of pleasure.
“I’m so close, Nate. I just need…I need…more.”
I placed my hand between our bodies and found her clit. It only took me a few strokes, and Haven was crying out in pleasure.
Once I knew she was done with her orgasm, I placed my hands on her hips and started to pump up into her.
“Oh, yes,” she gasped. “Harder, Nate. More!”
I moved faster and harder, and when I felt Haven’s body squeeze around me, I knew she was about to come.
“Nate!” she cried out as we both came together. It felt like my orgasm went on forever as I spilled into her. Haven collapsed against my chest, and we both dragged in breaths.
“That…was…amazing.”
I chuckled. “Yeah, it was.”
Lifting her head, her dimpled smile made my heart tumble. I loved this woman more than I could have ever imagined. “Now I’m really exhausted.”
I brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. “How about we shower, change, and watch a movie?”
“I honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to keep my eyes open long enough to watch a movie.”
“Fair enough. Shower then bed?”
“That sounds like heaven.”
I stood, took her hand in mine, and led her back upstairs and to my room. After starting the shower, we stepped in, and I kissed her slowly. Haven seemed to melt into my body as the kiss deepened. She opened her eyes and laughed when her hand moved down my body.
“Ready already?”
“I have always wanted to make love in the shower.”
She bit down on her lip before saying, “Who am I to deny you that.”
Picking her up, I pushed her back against the shower wall and got lost in her once again. I would never get tired of making love to Haven Larson.
The smell of coffee, bacon, and something else caused me to open my eyes and sit up. I glanced at the clock to see it was seven a.m. I pushed the covers off me, swung my legs over the bed, and stood.
I headed to the bathroom and splashed my face with cold water to wake up. Last night, Josh and Sophia had come over, and we exchanged gifts and had dinner. I had never dreamed how wonderful my life could be until Haven had entered it completely. I had planned on asking her to move in permanently after the new year since her lease was up in January. She spent all of her time now at my place and had even brought over some of her supplies for her business and stored them in the garage.
After brushing my teeth and slipping on some sweats and a long-sleeve T-shirt, I made my way out to the kitchen. The sound of Nat King Cole’s Christmas album filled the space, and I couldn’t help but smile as I saw the Christmas tree lights on, as well as some of the other lights Haven and Sophia had hung up. It smelled like apple cinnamon in the house mixed with bacon. My stomach growled the closer I got to the kitchen.
I stopped and watched as Haven stood before the stove singing softly to “The Christmas Song” along with Nat. An overwhelming sense of love filled my chest. How had it only been barely a month since we had finally found ourselves as a couple?
My mind drifted to last week when I walked into the community center to see Haven crying. She had admitted to me that night that it was because of the conversation about my family, and she had thought of her father. I had wanted to track him down and beat the shit out of him. I hated that he could still make her feel defeated and sad. I made a vow to do whatever I had to do to help her, and that included suggesting to her that we go together to a therapist. When she had broken down again, I held her until she cried herself to sleep.
