“It’s crazy for us to continue,” I said quietly, unable to tear my eyes from his.

“Other people don’t matter. Now, I asked you a question,” Tyler replied, pinching my chin between his thumb and forefinger firmly.

I knew that I needed to give him an answer. As nervous as I was about being caught, I doubted that he would flaunt our secret activities. It wouldn’t help him, and he would do anything to keep his company in a good light. If he wanted me to just focus on what I wanted, the answer to his question was obvious.

“I don’t want to forget,” I told him. He touched me last night in ways that I couldn’t forget if I tried. Even now, my body ached for him.

“You seem a little unsure still. Maybe I need to remind you,” Tyler said as he stepped even closer to me, backing me up against my desk. His eyes never left mine. He then suddenly picked me up and set me down on the edge of my desk, slipping between my legs. He trailed his hand up my side teasingly.

I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down. I couldn’t believe he was doing this at work. We could so easily be caught if someone came in, but the thrill of that turned me on even more. We had a dirty little secret between us, one that could be uncovered at any moment.

“Please,” I found myself breathing out. I couldn’t even shake my head. Of course, I would react like this. It was Tyler Ashland. I couldn’t deny him because I wanted him so badly. What was crazy was that he seemed to want me too. I never would’ve imagined this actually happening.

“It’s hard to deny you when you ask so nicely,” Tyler smirked as he stroked my cheek. His fingertips grazed my bottom lip. “Now, stay nice and quiet.”

I nodded just as he surged forward to kiss me deeply. I curled my arms around his neck, drawing him closer. I didn’t want any distance between us. I wished that we were back in his bedroom instead of being stuck in this office, but I rode out the thrill of it and indulged in his perfect kiss.

Tyler grabbed my hips and pulled me closer to the edge of my desk, grinding his hips between my thighs. He quieted my responding moan with his mouth, keeping me quiet as our bodies grated and moved.

I couldn’t get enough of each movement, each touch. Every single one felt so good, lighting me on fire. I welcomed the heat, the burn. He made me feel alive in the best way possible, and I reveled in the sensation of my racing heart. What I was doing was crazy, but it was what I wanted. So often, I ignored my desires. I focused on my goals, cutting out everything that could be considered a distraction. That left me with hardly anything pleasurable in my life. I hadn’t been with a guy in forever because I put aside relationships to focus on my studies.

Now, my studies were the last thing on my mind. All I wanted to do was feel his touch all over my body. The consequences still surrounded us, but so did four walls and a closed door. If we were careful, we could do whatever we desired. We didn’t need limits or boundaries. We needed to sate the hunger that took over us, starting with this heated kiss.

Chapter 12

Tyler

Vantage Lounge was busy for a Tuesday night. It was one of the high-end rooftop lounges in the city, hosting tired business executives that were desperate for a drink to numb their minds after a long day. I wasn’t here to drink the night away, though. Work had been good lately. I was here to meet up with some old college buddies.

We were all busy with our own lives, but we still made it a point to see each other at least once every few months to keep the old friend group alive. Honestly, they were some of my only friends left. I trusted them because they knew me and supported me before Ashland Consulting ever took off. I knew that they didn’t want to be around me just for my money.

Unfortunately, I had to ax some friendships just for that reason. I was young and naïve after my company first took off. When all these new people came up to me and wanted to be friends, I thought that they were genuine. Then, they started to ask for favors, like jobs and money. I soon realized that they didn’t want to be friends with me. They wanted to be friends with the up-and-coming CEO, Tyler Ashland.

Admittedly, it stung at first. I realized just how shallow people could be, but it didn’t take me long to learn that lesson. I became very selective with the people that I trusted and mainly stuck to my old friendships. It was rare that I made any new friends or let anyone else come close. It was hard to tell what their motives really were.
