It didn’t move.

I hit twenty.

Nothing.

I tried nineteen and the doors finally shut.

When the car stopped, I found myself face to face with two men napping in navy-blue suits.

“Excuse me?” I cleared my throat. “Excuse me, how do I get to the stargazing?”

They answered me with snores.

I shrugged and stepped onto the spiral staircase behind them, making my up to the twenty-first floor. Following a trail of royal blue and bright red rose petals to the right, I opened the French doors to the only room ahead.

Oh WOW…

I gasped as the cream and blue luxury suite came into view.

As if the staff had prepared this room for an A-list celebrity, fresh-cut red roses and lilies adorned every table, lush cerulean drapes fell to the floor in soft waves, and white rose petals covered the bed’s silk sheets.

Sliding off my stilettos, I set down my purse and flopped onto the mattress, rolling around like a toddler. I opened the minibar and poured myself a tall glass of champagne.

There was a note on the top shelf.

It’s our ultimate pleasure to help you celebrate your birthday early…

This card never happened, of course.

—The Four Seasons, Management

I pulled out my phone and sent Madison and Kristin a message.

Me: OMG! A SUITE AT THE FOUR SEASONS?!!!! Thank you both so much! This is already the best ‘birthday eve’ I’ve ever had.

30 will be truly EPIC!

Walking to the window, I pushed the drapes open and admired the evening view. Then I looked around for the next clue.

I circled the room, picking up pillows and pushing aside flower vases. I checked the closets and glanced under the bed, but everything was clear.

Pouring another glass of champagne, I checked the dresser drawers and slid my hand under the lampshades.

Nothing.

As a last resort, I pulled the mini-cheat sheet from my purse and skipped down to number four, but the sound of running water stopped me dead in my tracks.

Is someone else in here?

The water was coming from the right side of the suite, past the small hallway of orchids I’d neglected to explore.

A deep hum followed, and the water fell hard like rain, then it softened into a drizzle.

I tucked my phone into my dress pocket and grabbed the umbrella by the bed. Then, slowly approaching the bathroom, I held it right side up, the perfect position to crack the intruder’s head with its wooden handle.

The water suddenly shut off, and the sound of it trickling into a drain followed.

Gripping the umbrella as tightly as I could, I took a deep breath and rounded the corner.

“I don’t know who you are, but I need you to get the fuck out of my—”

The rest of my sentence stalled on my lips as the most beautiful man I’d ever seen in my life stood in front of me.

He single-handedly put every book boyfriend I’d ever read to shame, pushed every GQ cover model into the average column.

Dressed in nothing but a plush white towel that hung off his waist, the water droplets from his dark brown hair trickled down his muscled chest.

I followed one drop’s journey as it traveled to his six-pack abs, past his perfectly carved “V,” watching it travel lower and lower until it stopped at his huge cock-print that made me drop the umbrella.

OH. MY. GOD.

He tilted his head to the side, giving me a closer look at his perfectly chiseled jawline and his stunning almond-colored eyes.

“May I help you with something, Miss?” His deep British accent caught me entirely off guard.

“I…” I struggled to speak for a few seconds. “I need you to get the fuck out of my suite.”

“I beg your pardon?” He smiled a set of pearly whites. “I’m in your suite?”

“Yes, you’re in my suite.” I picked up my umbrella. “So, finish up whatever the hell you think you’re doing in here and leave. Otherwise, I’ll be forced to use this dangerous weapon.”

“Yes.” He glanced at the umbrella. “That does look rather dangerous.”

“You’ve got five minutes.”

“I must say, I’m impressed with your antics, Miss.” His gaze wandered up and down my body, and butterflies fluttered in my stomach. “This is an excellent game you’re playing.”

“I’m not playing anything.”

“Of course you are,” he said. “However, as long as you sign an NDA and promise not to post anything until tomorrow, I’ll allow you to take a picture.”

“A picture of what?”

“Me, of course.”

Is this guy serious?

“You’ll have to allow me to finish dressing first.” His towel slipped a bit, and he quickly recovered it. “Surely you can understand why a picture of me looking like this won’t work.”

I stared at him, beyond confused.

Sexy as hell or not, he was delusional.

“Why would I want a picture of you?” I asked.

“Isn’t it obvious?”

“Uh, no.” I rolled my eyes. “I’m well aware of what a delusional hot guy looks like. There’s no need to keep a reminder on my phone.”
