“What do you want to know?”

“Do you know who my mole is?”

“Not by name. I only know who sent him in.” Interesting.

“Who?”

“Maggiano.” the room grows eerily quiet as the name sweeps the space between all of us. My team knows how much I despise the fat fuck. Most of them were there when he tried to take me out in the beginning of my reign, and they witnessed him fall and then saw me give him something to hold on to. They know everything. So they are aware that right now even night vision goggles couldn’t clear the cloud of smoke forming behind my eyes. My head is spinning with the different ways I am going to destroy him. How the fuck did he think he would get away with this? They underestimate me because I am educated and well spoken. They denounce the grit and iron I wield when you cross me.

“Fuck.” Click says to my left. Pop. tapping one between the eyes of the last one, I turn and address the room.

“Nothing that is said here is spoken outside of this room. Not even to the soldiers. WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHO THE MOTHERFUCKING MOLE IS!! AT THIS POINT, I TRUST NO ONE. NOT ONE FUCKING PERSON. BRING ME ANSWERS!!! NOW!!!” Taking a few deep breaths, I try to calm myself. “Set up a meeting with Maggiano, Bianchi and Geusieppe. If they want to come for me, I am going to make them tell me to my face.”

“Boss.” Click responds. As I walk out the door, Click, Scar and Lola follow me. The three of them are a bit twitchy and edgy from the threat. Like I give a shit. I will double tap all of the roaches in this city and mail them home.

Turning to my three most loyal, I say the thee words I know are going to light them up.

“I. Declare. War.”

How could everything go from being so amazing to being in a war zone. I don’t know what happened. One minute we are in the back of the car on the way home and the next all hell breaks loose. I have never been so scared in my whole life. Sleeping on the street, surrounded by dirt, mice and strangers was nothing compared to being shot at and watching as the man you have fallen in love with walks away from you toward the chaos and never knowing if you will see him again.

Like instructed, Anais brought me here and locked me in this room which if I am being honest, is like a mini hotel room...just locked behind a wall that needs a password, retinal scan and voice activation to open. The one thing that is not in here is a clock. She took my Nook and cell phone from me. Something about it being able to be traced. I mean this is the fucking CIA. I have no idea how long I have been in here and the longer it takes, the more I feel I am going to lose my mind. What if something happens to him? Then what happens to me?

“Oh God.'' I lean over and cry as my stomach begins to cramp. Every breath I take feels like I am being stabbed in the chest. Is this what a panic attack feels like? Gasping for air, I grip the chair to brace myself before I hit the floor. Knowing I need to be somewhere more padded, I crawl over to the bed in the center of the room and just barely make it to the middle of before I find everything getting black around me. “No.” I call out to the darkness. Normally I welcome it as it envelops me and aids me in hiding from the world out there. But right now, I need the light. I need to be able to feel and see. I need to continue to believe he is fine and won’t leave me. “No.'' I croak out once more, trying so hard to evade the blackness overtaking me. I know I am losing the fight so I do the only thing I can...I call his name one more time. “DARIO.”

“I’m so sorry, precious.” These words are playing in my head over and over but for some reason I can’t reach the person saying them. Warmth spreads over my face as softness moves from place to place. I feel as if I am floating across the room. “Are you going to wake up and look at me, baby?” It’s...he’s… my eyes pop open and land on his beautiful face.

“Hi.” I whisper as tears fill my eyes and fall out the corners.

“Hey, hey. What’s all this? I’m here, my Queen. What’s wrong?” as he sits on the bed with me in his arms, I find myself clinging to him, crying as my body releases the fear of the last however many hours. As it purges the bleakness from the unknown. “My treasure, if you don’t stop crying, I am going to have to go back to the men that I just ended, bring them back to life and snuff them again for bringing you such sadness.” my fingers hold his shirt tighter, unable to bear him moving away from me. He simply kisses my head and scoots further up the bed where he lays me down and lays beside me putting my head on his chest.
