“Another dead body was found last night,” Bull said. “Dylan called me.” He looked around the church table, seeing the grim look on his men’s faces.

Lockdown right now was not working. They were not drawing out the enemy. He couldn’t allow Maddie to go out there, knowing Miguel waited for them.

“Three spots around town, all on the outskirts. First, we have the trailer park, then the old barn, and another outside of the woods, where Ernie and Bruno were found,” Bull said.

“Is he trying to tell us that we’re surrounded?” Sweets asked.

“That’s what I believe.” Bull turned toward his brother. “Miguel went to Aria’s house a week ago. Grant had gone to pick up some clothes for her. He wanted to make a deal.”

Grant had come to him immediately. Bull threw the calling card onto the main table.

“You’re only bringing this up now?” Rusty asked.

“Grant came to me. I wanted to know what to do with this information before I acted on it.” Bull looked toward his brother. “I want Grant to respond to this call.”

Grant looked up. His brother didn’t look good. He hadn’t shaved in several days, nor did it look like he had slept. This shit with Aria was affecting him.

“What?” Grant asked.

“It’s well known you and I don’t have the best relationship. I want you to call this in.”

“You’re crazy,” Grant said. “He’ll see right through it.”

“Will he?” Bull asked. “He reached out to you. We need to get rid of this fucker, Grant. You’re the only one who can do it.”

No matter what he thought about this outcome, none of them were as good as Grant. Not even one of the other guys could pull this off, but Grant could.

“You’re to make the call, follow his instructions, learn everything, and then we’re going to take them out. I need to know how many there are in town. I need to know where they’re staying, and then we’re taking this fight to them. I’m not going to be at their mercy anymore. I’m done making deals like our old man.”

Bull slammed his hand down on the table.

“And I’m done keeping us all locked up. The clubhouse, you brothers, you mean everything to me, but I need my wife, alone, without hearing one of you fucking farting outside my bedroom.”

Rusty held his hand up, and Rip was the one to high-five him.

“Rip bet me fifty bucks to do that. We wanted to see if you’d still be able to get your nut off with a bunch of dudes farting.”

Bull shook his head. Even when they were in danger and the threat was very fucking real, the guys still found the time to make jokes. Assholes.

“This is dangerous,” Pat said.

“I’m not going to put Aria at risk.”

“That’s the thing,” Bull said. “To help, I’ve already gotten Jase to spread the rumor.”

“What?”

Bull wasn’t proud of this. He’d called Jase, asked for a favor, told him what had happened between Grant and Aria, and her sister. Aria and Grant had been the talk of the town. He’d heard the people gossiping about his brother, and it was the perfect fuel to help word get back to Miguel. It would protect Aria, and Grant would be able to do this.

“You had no fucking right,” Grant said.

“It’s done. Aria is already on her way home,” Bull said. “I let her go. I told her that with you and her no longer together, the threat is not real to her.”

Bull tensed up as Grant threw himself across the table, charging at him.

“You son of a bitch. You had no fucking right.” Grant threw back his arm. This time, Bull allowed him to have the first punch, then the second, but then, with Pat, Rusty, and even Stacks’s help, they had to pull Grant off him. “Do you know what you’ve done?”

“I’ve saved your woman and I’m saving this club.”

“No one else knew!” Grant yelled. “No one knew that I had fucked her sister and now they’re all going to know. You’ve humiliated her. Now she’s never going to fucking forgive me.”

He tried to pull out of the confines of the brothers’ arms.

“This way, my way, you’ll get chance to make it right with her. You can’t make it right while she’s avoiding you in the clubhouse.”

Grant gritted his teeth. “I hate you.”

“Good. You can channel that hate into doing your job.”

Bull knew he’d done the right thing, but it had come at a cost to his brother and Aria. He only hoped that Aria was so in love with Grant that she’d be able to forgive him.

Chapter Sixteen

“Aria, what are you doing here?” Jase asked.

Aria looked up at her personal trainer and the truth was, she didn’t have a clue. Bull had sent her home only yesterday.

Nothing was disturbed. Her house was fine. The food in the fridge had to be thrown out, which she had done when she got home. Her life had gone on as usual.
