He lowered his mouth and kissed me, this time slow and teasing. When our lips parted I lay there, spent and breathless with sheets clinging to me, my heart pounding in my chest. The intensity of everything had left me feeling both exhilarated and slightly dazed. "That was incredible," I managed to whisper, my voice hoarse.

He chuckled softly, easing down beside me and pulling me close to him. "I think that's an understatement" His hand stroked my messy hair. “A shower, and then I want your legs wrapped around me again.”

I nearly choked on the saliva I’d managed to accumulate. If we did that again I was likely to break in two. I peered up at him. “Ky, you’re amazing, but I can’t take you again.”

His smile didn’t match the expression on his face. He sat up and pulled me closer to his chest before getting out of bed. “You’ll take everything I give you, Sunshine”

As we lay in bed, his chest rising and falling beneath my cheek, I felt the gentle touch of his fingers tracing patterns on my back.

Every inch of me ached in the best way possible. He’d made good on his promise of fucking me again as soon as we were out of the shower and didn't stop until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. Even then, he’d woken me up later by sliding inside me once again. His stamina was unbelievable. He alternated with his cock and tongue to keep me coming while waiting to get hard.

It would’ve been heaven if we weren’t stuck in hell.

“I can hear you thinking.”

“Can you?” I laughed lightly. “I can barely hear myself.”

He was quiet for a moment. “I’m listening.”

I let out a sigh and rested my head on my hand, looking at him. “What will happen after this?”

“We'll go back home,” he responded without hesitation.

“But I have no home to return to.” I tried not to let the sting of that bother me.

“You have me. I am your home.”

“Ky—,” I started to protest.

“Wherever you go, Sunshine. I will always be there.”

I found myself tearing up, the sincerity in his eyes and words a little too much for how raw I was feeling right then.

“And what does our home look like?” I asked to distract myself.

“Maybe I’ll let you domesticate me.”

I laughed a little harder. “Yeah, right.”

He agreed with a smirk.

His statement did, however, brush against something I’d wondered myself, reminding me of what Hayven had said earlier. “Are you sure you’ll want me after this city is behind us?”

His hand stopped moving completely and his expression went eerily blank. I realized I’d done it again/ I had said something that bothered him, not with my words but because I couldn’t remember everything yet.

“I made a girl slit her wrists to prove she loved me.”

I gaped at him. “Why…why would you tell me that?”

“I told you this long before we wound up in this bed. When I made sure you would never get the insane notion to try and leave me.”

“Ky, how the hell is that a convincing reason to stay?”

“Because as I watched her bleed out, I felt nothing.” He wrapped an arm around my back and then took hold of my hands, “When you got both of these scars, I wanted to take all the hurt away. Knowing you've been harmed in any way - physically or emotionally - makes me want to destroy anyone who has ever caused you pain.”

I swallowed, the significance of one scar far outweighing the other, his words so certain and unwavering. I didn’t know what to say. I should’ve been horrified, and part of me was, refusing to fully process that.

The girl I could see ever present in the back of my mind knew this was simply who Kyrous was, and we both loved him regardless.

“Do you understand?” He persisted, his hand still on my throat.

I nodded, and he eased his grip, gently stroking the sides again.

“You have me, always.” He glanced towards the door. “And them.”

I blinked, trying to keep my emotions in check. “You have a romantic heart.”

He let out a deep laugh that made my heart skip a beat. “That belief only confirms that we are meant for each other.”

“Are you sure it’s not the other way around? I think you’re perfect,” I said sincerely, despite still processing his confession.

“Do you?” He looked down at me, his eyes roaming over my face.

“I will never be the man that slow dances with you in the kitchen while dinner is cooking. I’ll be too busy fucking you on the counter while it burns in the oven.”

I shook my head at his audacity, unable to hide my smile. "You're you, Ky. And I’m me. We wouldn’t work if we were anyone else.”

He pulled my face to his and kissed me deeply, his hands roaming over my body as if he couldn't get enough of me. He gripped my hip and guided me onto his lap, so I was sitting on top of him. We broke apart and he pulled me closer, his lips trailing down my neck as I shivered with pleasure. My hands ran through his dark hair, feeling its softness beneath my fingers.
