“But he’s such a good target.” I shrugged, unable to defend myself very well. “You just don’t know. It was too tempting.”

Camden buried his face in my neck as he giggled again. “Okay, no. I’ll ask for the stories another time. You’re going to distract me if I’m not careful.”

At least he wasn’t worried any longer.

Giving him a quick peck as he sat up, I pulled him close and hugged him tight before releasing my hold on my boy. “Alright, what did he say when you called?”

Looking more at ease and still right on the edge of laughing again, Camden smiled wider. “He was so funny. He was very nice and was trying to take my questions very seriously. But he was very glad when Lane took the phone.”

That did not surprise me.

“Was Lane helpful?” Focusing on that kept my brain from running in circles trying to imagine what Camden had picked out.

A faint blush spread over his cheeks as he jerked his head up and down, then leaned in to give me a kiss on my cheek. “Yes, they had lots of colors and he told me which ones were soft and he even let me talk to his puppy friend who’s so funny, Daddy.”

Chuckling, I kissed his forehead. “I’ve talked to him before. He’s very excitable.”

“He’s so funny and he’s got a little friend and he likes coloring too and he models the stuff too, Daddy.” Camden was so excited I’d lost track of which he we were talking about, but I wasn’t sure it mattered.

“I’m glad they were all very helpful.” Realizing I had to be more of a Daddy and less of a wuss in this conversation, I kissed his cheek and tried to look relaxed. “But you know you don’t have to wear anything you don’t want to, right?”

His eager nod had my lips wanting to curl up again. “Yes, Daddy, and Wilder said you would be upset if I did something I didn’t want to just to make you happy, but oh, Daddy, I giggled when he said happy and then the puppy made me explain why that was funny. Sorry.”

Groaning, my head fell back against the couch, making Camden snicker. “Sorry, Daddy. I couldn’t help it. He was polite and nice and it would’ve been rude not to tell him.”

Wilder was never going to let me live that down.

Camden’s wicked grin said he knew it too. “I like your friends, Daddy.”

Shaking my head as I straightened, I kissed his nose. “I’m glad.”

Giving him a quick hug, I snuggled him back against me and forced my body to relax so I didn’t make him nervous. “Tell me what you thought of your surprise. Have you opened it yet or are you waiting for me to open the box?”

That got another giggle and he buried his face against my neck again. “I opened it, Daddy. I even tried it on. Me wearing it is your surprise, so I had to make sure it was right.”

He was so excited and wiggly he nearly slipped off my lap as his head popped up again. “Do you want me to show you?”

He was the cutest thing ever.

I just wasn’t sure if little Camden wanted to do a fashion show or if big Camden wanted to seduce me…it was hard to tell.

“I would love that.” Baby? Cutie? “I bet you’re going to look incredible.”

Yep, I had questions.

Chapter Twenty-Two

Camden

This was going to be so much fun.

Kissing his cheek, I ignored how worried Daddy looked and grabbed my phone off the coffee table as I jumped up. “I’ll be right back.”

When I’d called Wilder, he’d said that Daddy would worry about pushing me into something new, so I wasn’t too scared of the way he kept trying to smile and just ended up looking like his tummy hurt. Wilder had said he’d been Daddy’s best friend for years and years and that Daddy liked me so much he wouldn’t push me into doing anything I didn’t want to.

So Lane said I was just going to have to surprise him.

And puppy man said that the surprise needed to be sexy so Daddy forgot to worry.

The puppy was smart, and eventually I was going to remember his name.

“I’ll hurry.” And since I’d already cleaned up after working, I didn’t even need to take a shower or get paint out of my hair.

Daddy chuckled, but his eyes were still worried. “Take your time. I’m not going anywhere.”

That was a take your time just in case you change your mind…but I wouldn’t because I’d already think think thinked like Pooh and I knew what I wanted.

Well, I knew what I wanted once my little side stopped finding it so funny. But it was funny and I liked playing dress-up, so I was hoping to find my big side again once my little side got bored of looking pretty.
