Perhaps.
“Also you expected me to tell him and I didn’t,” she added.
That was true.
Would this make things better or worse?
Fuck if he knew. But he couldn’t sit here and watch her wallow in misery.
“All right, I’ll spank you.”

About thirty minutes earlier . . .
Loki stormed out of Noah’s office.
Someone had run her off the road.
His girl. His Tink.
He needed to fucking find out who. He knew he shouldn’t have left like that. But he just . . . he just needed a fucking minute to take it in and he didn’t want to do that in front of her. In case she got upset.
He had to find out who this fucker was.
Easton would help. He’d go find them, then he’d go back and talk to Isa about keeping shit from him.
Even though he got why she’d done it. To protect him.
Mostly, he was fucking angry at himself.
As he stormed into the Wishing Well, he made a beeline for his friends.
He was nearly there when someone stepped in front of him.
“Loki,” Gary sneered.
Fucking Gary.
This asshole didn’t understand that he wasn’t wanted. He’d been a whiny, ugly bully when he was a kid and he’d grown into an even whinier, uglier bully as an adult.
“Get out of my way, Gary. I don’t have time for you tonight.”
“Why? Too busy fucking Isa in Noah’s office?”
He tensed, anger flooding him.
Don’t engage.
Walk away.
“I bet that tight cunt of hers milks your cock real well. Wouldn’t mind having a go at it, but you’ve got that little bitch stitched up tight, don’t you?”
This fucking asshole.
“What the hell did you say?” he snarled.
His friends had already noticed. They were on the move. But he was already surrounded by those asshole friends of Gary’s.
None of them could handle their alcohol.
They were all as small-minded as Gary. Racist, homophobic dickheads who thought they were better than everyone else.
For some reason, Gary was pushing for a fight tonight. He wasn’t a fan of Loki or his friends. And he’d never forgiven Isa for turning him down when he asked her out years ago.
“Or maybe it’s the guy you’re fucking,” Gary said. “Remy. Yeah, had yourselves a little threesome with that cunt, did you?”
No one. No one talked about his Tink that way.
This bastard was gonna die.
Loki was tired and sore.
But at least Ed hadn’t arrested him. There had been several witnesses who claimed that Gary was stirring shit. So Ed and his deputies had hauled Gary away.
However, Loki still had an itch under his skin that wouldn’t go away. A combination of anger at that fuckwit, Gary. And at himself.
Because Kiesha had told him that she’d seen Remy half-carrying Isa out of the Wishing Well while she’d called out for him.
And he hadn’t even fucking heard her.
Now, she’d seen him fighting again. She’d been trying to get to him. What if Remy hadn’t been there?
She could have gotten seriously hurt.
Unacceptable.
As Loki drove into his driveway, he spotted Remy’s truck sitting there.
For once he was more relieved than anything else. Remy was looking after his girl when he couldn’t.
He sat in his truck for a moment. Was this what having a ménage relationship was like? When you couldn’t be there . . . someone else would be there to take care of your girl?
But . . . wouldn’t that lend itself to becoming lazy in a relationship? Always relying on the other person to pick up the slack.
He had to be in a relationship one hundred percent.
But if Remy was as well . . . that meant two men watching over her. All the time. Like Remy said before.
Shit. Had the other man thought about this too?
Fucking Gary. Now he was tired, relieved, angry, and really fucking worried.
Getting out of his truck, he headed to the front door. He opened the door and Remy’s voice hit him.
“I’ll spank you.”
Um. What. The. Actual. Fuck.
“What the hell!”

“What the hell?”
Isa jumped at Loki’s yell, glancing over to see him storm into the room, looking furious. He strode to the sofa. Picking her up, he set her down before stepping in front of her.
Standing between her and Remy.
Uh-oh.
“You’re threatening to spank my girl? To hurt her? Harm her?”
She swallowed heavily, moving so she could look from Loki to Remy. Loki appeared outraged, but to her surprise Remy just seemed contemplative.
Loki stared down at her with a frown, looking like he was going to push her behind him again.
“Loki, he wasn’t threatening me.” She checked him over; he didn’t appear injured. Just tired and rumpled.
Thank God.
She sighed with relief. Maybe she should have stayed around and waited for him. She’d felt terrible about leaving him.
“Are you all right?” she asked. “I’m sorry I left. I tried to get to you. What did Gary do or say this time?”
Gary and his friends were a blight in an otherwise lovely town. Well, mostly lovely.
