A smile twitched at her lips. “Do you know how to use it?”

“Sure do. You just hold this piece here up to your lips and blow. See?” He held the round, flat disc to his mouth, blowing on it.

All right, he was officially ridiculous.

And it was helping relax her. Maybe Big Isa couldn’t handle the doctor. But what about Isa-Bee?

“Baby girl, would this be easier in Little headspace?” Remy asked.

She could feel her cheeks heat as she stared at Xavier.

“You can be Isa-Bee with Xavier,” Loki added.

“You certainly can. You know I can take good care of a Little,” Xavier said soothingly.

“It’s not weird?” she asked.

Loki stiffened and when she glanced at Remy, he was frowning down at him.

Poor Xavier, if he said the wrong word, he was in for a world of trouble.

“Absolutely not,” Xavier said firmly. “And I’ll be unhappy if you think that.”

“Then, okay, yes. Thank you.”

“No need to thank me, sweetheart. Now, just a few questions.”

She answered everything as best she could. Loki and Remy remained quiet, but she could feel how upset they were.

God, she’d rather take a spanking right now than feel this way.

“Good girl. Now, I have a problem. I can’t seem to remember how to work this hickory-doo-dah?” Xavier scratched his head as he held out the stethoscope.

“Like this.” She grabbed it and put it over her ears and held the piece on her chest.

“Oh, thank you. You’re clever. Do you have a doctor’s certificate too?”

“Uh-huh,” she said as Loki undid some buttons on her shirt so Xavier could listen to her chest and back.

She’d taken off her jacket earlier.

“Did you get yours online as well?” Xavier asked. “Ten bucks and all I had to do was print it off. Good, huh?”

She couldn’t help but giggle.

“Right, I just need you to take some deep breaths. Maybe one of your Daddies could help?”

Loki nodded and did the breathing with her, holding her gaze intently.

“You’re doing so well, sweetheart. I bet your Daddies are very proud of you.”

“We are,” Remy said.

He continued to take her temperature and look in her throat and ears.

“Okay, sweetheart. I’m going to need to take some blood. I can get someone—”

“No, you!”

“I thought you’d say that. Would you like to sit on one of your Daddies’ laps while I take it?”

She nodded.

“I bet that your Daddies are going to buy you a special present for being so good,” he said as he set things up.

Remy sat up on her other side and drew her onto his lap.

“Really?” she asked.

Loki nodded. “Absolutely.”

She didn’t want to watch the needle go in, so she put her thumb in her mouth and turned her head, burying her face in Loki’s bicep.

“That’s it, baby girl,” Remy told her. “You’re doing so well. Such a good girl.”

“There we are. All done. Loki, can you put pressure here?” Xavier asked.

She felt Loki press on her inner arm.

“Now, I’ve got a really important question for you, Isa,” Xavier said. “And you’re going to have to think long and hard about this.”

She turned to look at Xavier as he held something out.

“Rainbows or unicorn Band-Aid?” Xavier showed her the Band-Aids in his hand.

Pfft. That wasn’t hard.

“Rainbows!”

Xavier smiled. “Very good. All right, why don’t you all have a seat over here?” He gestured toward some chairs and sat on a stool. He started entering details into a tablet.

Remy stood and carried her over to one of the chairs.

He sat, settling her on his lap.

Loki strode over and sat next to them. She wrung her hands together anxiously. was upset with her and she knew she deserved it. Loki reached over and placed his hand on hers. And it was like she could breathe easier. He squeezed tight as Xavier looked up at them all.

“Right. There’re a few things I’m concerned about.”

A whimper escaped her and Xavier’s eyes widened. He moved closer to her. “Hey, I didn’t mean to upset you. Everything is going to be all right.”

She still didn’t think he could say that.

“But it’s not normal to faint. Or to feel so dizzy and lethargic. It could be something very minor, so I don’t want you to worry. I think we’ll know more once the blood tests come back. In the meantime, I want you to rest. All right? No work. No exercise other than a light walk. You’re to sleep and eat and let your two men pamper you.”

“We’ll do that,” Remy agreed.

Loki just nodded.

“Good. Lots of healthy food. Protein. Fruit. Veggies. I know Littles sometimes struggle with that, but you need to try.”

“Isa is good at eating her veggies,” Loki told him.

“Good girl. Now, hold out your hand.” Xavier reached into his pocket and drew out a stamp. He stamped her hand and when she looked down she saw a smiley face.

“Go home. Don’t panic, all right? Let me do the worrying for you.”
