“I want to do this,” Loki told her, running a finger down her cheek. “Please let me. Us.”
Remy nodded. “You deserve a playroom and it’s as much for us as it is for you. A place where you can feel safe to be Isa-Bee and where we can be Daddy and Ki-Ki.”
That actually sounded beyond nice.
“Okay, Daddy.”
“Is there anything you want in it, Tink?” Loki asked.
“Pink stuff. Rainbows. Soft stuff. Ooh, can I have one of those big fluffy beanbags and a chair that you can hang from the ceiling?”
“Sure,” Loki said easily.
Remy looked a bit stunned. But, hey, normally she loved to shop.
They moved through the store, adding things. She saw cute onesies and some outfits that she really liked. Some things were too big like the play kitchen that Loki wanted.
When they got to the furniture, she got a bit bored. Besides, she didn’t want to think about the fact they were discussing a changing table.
She wasn’t sure she’d ever be that young.
Although she had blushed when she saw the baby bottles that Remy had chosen. She rather liked the idea of him feeding her a bottle. Maybe right before bed.
And then he could feed her something else. Wink-wink.
That’s when an idea occurred to her. She had seen some soft toys back farther, but she hadn’t really paid attention.
But now she had the urge to go find what she was looking for. All of these other things were boring. Mostly.
She glanced around but the guys were looking at cribs and not paying her any attention.
Hey, if they weren’t going to watch her . . . she undid her harness and slid off the seat. Then she skipped over to the best. Thing. Ever.
With a squeal, she finally found it. She jumped up, trying to grab it. Why was it so high up?
She . . . nearly . . . had . . . it . . .
As she grabbed it off the shelf about a hundred other soft toys rained down on her.
But she didn’t care. She had what she wanted.
It was perfect. It was squishy.
It was hers!
“Isabelle!” a voice barked, making her jump.
“Uh-oh, Olly,” she whispered.
Perhaps she should hide.
Daddy sounded very upset. She glanced around frantically, but the only place she saw to hide was in the giant pile of soft toys.
She dove into it, pulling Olly with her.
There. Totally safe.
“Isabelle!” Remy said again.
She got the feeling that Remy was always going to be the disciplinarian of the two of them.
Although Loki sure had seemed stern when he had her writing lines earlier.
And then corner time.
Yikes!
But yeah, Remy was the one who was going to be sterner.
So, basically, if she was going to misbehave, then she needed to do it when Remy wasn’t around.
Noted.
She peeked out of the pile as she saw Remy at the end of the aisle.
“Stay quiet, Olly,” she whispered to him. “Quiet like a mouse.”
“What the hell happened here?” Loki asked.
Oh, he sounded like he was at the other end of the aisle. But she didn’t dare turn to look. She was too busy hiding.
She hoped that Remy didn’t cheat and use his mind-reading abilities to figure out where she was.
“What do you think you are doing, Princess?”
Oh wow. He sounded very close.
She hoped he didn’t stand on her.
Surely he wouldn’t stand on a bunch of defenseless soft toys.
“Hmm, I wonder where Tinkerbelle could be?” Loki mused. “You don’t think that she’s gone out of the shop, do you?”
“If she has, I’m going to take off my belt,” Remy said in a dark voice.
His belt?
Why would he take off his . . . oh.
Shoot.
Well, she hadn’t left the shop so she should be fine.
Still . . . she was kind of rethinking this whole undoing her harness, then hiding in a pile of soft toys thing.
“I’m going to count to three and if she doesn’t appear, then I’m going to add ten spanks for every second that she stays hidden.”
Every second! Was he trying to kill her?
“One.”
She popped out of the pile of toys. “Daddy! I’m here!”
He stood with his hands on his hips, staring at her. “What do you think you are doing?”
“I found him, Daddy. I found the most perfectest octopus in the world!” She flung her arms out as she said the last word.
Daddy didn’t look too impressed with her theatrics.
Rude.
“See?” She held him up in Daddy’s face.
He still didn’t seem impressed.
“Don’t you like Olly, Daddy?” she asked.
“I’m sure he’s a very nice octopus. However, he’s not the one who unbuckled her harness and wandered off, then hid from her Daddies. Is he?”
“Wow, whoever did that sounds very naughty.”
“The person that did that is very naughty. They’re also getting their bottom spanked.”
They were?
But that was her!
Too late, she turned to run. Too bad, she was in a sea of soft toys. Oh, and Loki was standing on the other side.
