Her sense of humor was questionable, but I appreciated her taking the heat off me. Honestly, no matter what Arthur sent, it would never beat a box full of dirty candy she’d picked up at an adult toy store.

Sorry…no one should ever eat candy penises or boobs.

It was just…

No, no getting sidetracked.

I had to stay focused.

What had I been going to say?

Daddy chuckled, shaking his head. “You have a sweet tooth when you’re little.”

Shrugging, I ignored the blush that was heating up my face again. “You’re the one who sends me goodies. I try not to buy them so I can’t give into temptation.”

Daddy scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Cereal once in a while won’t hurt any little.”

He was such a softy.

“You’re supposed to have more rules for me.” It’d been a running joke that Daddies were supposed to have lots of rules.

But the wicked gleam in his eyes had me wanting to hide my face. “Do you remember what I said about rules and what I want to control?”

Feeling silly and squirmy, I nodded and tried to sit up straight, but I found myself giggling and pressing my face against his shoulder. “Yes…”

His body silently jerked a few times, but instead of laughing, he pressed a kiss to the side of my head. “Yes, what? You know what I want to hear.”

An embarrassed squeak escaped before I could hold it back and I giggled again. “Daddy.”

He made a happy sound, like he’d just eaten a donut…Daddy liked donuts. “That’s right. But do I tease little boys?”

Shaking my head, I giggled again. “Noooo, Daddy.”

He just teased big me about silly things…little me got cereal and toys…oh, and books.

“Did you bring my surprise, Daddy?” I’d forgotten. How? “I was very good this week. I called and texted and I made you a picture last night.”

“Oh, did you?” He pulled back and ran his hands down his pants before he huffed. “My phone is in my locker. Did you send me a picture?”

Daddy liked my pictures.

“No, Daddy.” Hiding my face between his shoulder and the couch, I whispered. “I brought it with me. It’s with my stuff.”

“You brought me a picture? Can I take it home and hang it up?” Daddy was excited. I could hear it in his voice but I knew he’d let me keep it if it was special.

“Yes, Daddy…and…and I brought you a stuffy to keep at your house. Just in case.” I wasn’t sure in case of what…but I’d had to bring it to him.

“Thank you.” Daddy kissed my head making me giggle again. “You’re very sweet to me tonight.”

He was so nice.

“Daddy?” Was it time? “Can we…”

Biting my lip, I inched closer. “Daddy?”

He giggled.

He was so silly.

“Yes?” He tried to be serious, but I could hear a smile in his voice. “What does my boy need?”

I was his boy.

Even when I was nervous and wiggly, he said I was his boy.

“Can we go play? Can I have my surprise now?” I’d been so patient.

Days and days of patience.

“Did I get you something?” Daddy tried to sound confused, but it just made me nod and laugh. “Oh, I forgot. Let’s go see if I have something for you.”

Daddy squeezed my hands and waited.

He’d wait a long time.

He once waited five loooong minutes for me to tell him that I’d been naughty and had stayed up too late watching a scary movie that gave me nightmares.

I’d had to go to bed early for seven whole days as punishment.

It’d been hard.

“I’ve been good, Daddy.” Helping him remember seemed like a good idea. “Very good.”

Would that help him remember that he’d wanted to get me lots of surprises?

“Well, I’m not sure if I remembered you’d been very good, but let’s go see.” Sneaky Daddy was making me wait.

I knew I should’ve brought him donuts…but big me had said that was silly.

Silly would’ve gotten me lots of surprises, though.

Chapter 3

Arthur

“Can we go faster, Daddy?” Joseph was trying to be very polite and walk slowly, but his entire body was vibrating with nervous energy and excitement. “Just a little?”

Swinging his arm, I squeezed his hand tighter. “But we’re almost there. Shouldn’t we go slower to stretch out the surprise?”

Groaning dramatically, he huffed and sighed as we got closer to the playroom. “Yes, Daddy.”

That sounded painful, but it was clear that he was hoping agreeing with me would pay off in the long run.

“You’re a very good boy.” And he was well on his way to being little and relaxed.

Perking up, he had a bounce in his step as he nodded. “You said good boys get rewards because that makes Daddies happy and happy Daddies like making their boys even more happy.”

His brain was like a steel trap that kept everything…and I shouldn’t be allowed to explain anything before coffee.

It was amazing and frightening because some of the things he was repeating back were comments I’d made weeks ago and could barely remember. I’d noticed how good his memory was in our conversations, but just seeing how easily he was recalling the information hammered it home.
