“No, I won’t,” Grady told her firmly. “Damon and I work together. We are on the same page when it comes to you. And there’s no pitting one against the other.”

Chagrin filled her face. “Sorry, Daddies.”

“Other-Daddy?” Steele asked incredulously.

“Umm.” She bit her lower lip.

“Time-out for you.” Steele stood, picked her up and carried her to the Time-out chair.

And, wow, she had trouble with the concept of Time-out. She fidgeted, she talked, and she had it extended three times before Steele gave up, lifting her out and carrying her back to the bean-bag.

Then they had a tea party where she made them snacks from Playdoh.

“These are delicious, Twinkletoes,” Grady told her, staring down at the mess of dough.

“You didn’t eat it, though, Daddy G,” she pointed out.

“Of course I did. See?” He pretended to munch on the burger.

“Daddy G, that’s not eating it. You actually have to take a bite.”

Brat. Her eyes were twinkling. But he loved that she was having such a good time. So he took a bite.

“Daddy G! No! Daddy! Daddy G ate the Playdoh.”

Steele shook his head, looking amused. “Daddy G, that was silly.”

“You’re gonna get a tummy ache,” Effie advised him. “You know what always helps me when I have a tummy ache? Magic beans!”

“No magic beans,” Steele told her. “You’ve had enough sugar.”

She pouted. “Daddy. So mean.”

Grady walked into the bathroom and spat the Playdough into some toilet paper.

Gross.

He rinsed out his mouth before returning to play.

“Nap time for Effie,” Steele announced.

“No nap time for Effie,” Effie said.

“Definitely nap time. I’ve just seen you yawn three times.”

“So did Daddy G.”

He had. He felt exhausted. All the worry over their girl had taken its toll.

“Daddy G can take care of himself. Effie needs to do what her Daddies say.”

She pouted as Grady picked her up and placed her down on the change table.

“Get her into her onesie,” Steele said to him, pulling the onesie out of a drawer. “Padded panties for her nap in Little headspace. I’ll get her bottle ready.”

He undressed her. Easy.

Then he picked up her padded panties. They had bumblebees on them.

“I can dress myself, Daddy G,” she said.

“I have this.” He slid the panties up her legs.

“You sure?” she asked.

“I’m just not used to dressing a woman.”

“I’m not a woman, Daddy G! I’m just a Little girl!”

“You are,” Grady murmured. “You’re my Little girl.”

“But I can dress myself.”

“Not sure you can have it both ways, Little one.”

“Daddy G! You don’ts have to be logical when you’re Little. In fact, I think that’s a rule. You should note that down. No logical Littles. Uh-huh, definitely a rule.”

He grinned and shook his head at her antics. This was more like their girl.

Grady got her in one of the onesie’s he’d bought for her. It had sloths on it and the feet and hands enclosed.

“Daddy G, you bought me lots of stuff.”

“I did. I actually enjoyed it. There’s a new shop in Billings that specializes in things for Littles. I went in there and the owner helped me. She was a sweet girl with an interesting, um, assistant. Besides, I bought you all of this because you deserve it.” He sat her up and kissed her nose.

“I can’ts buy you stuff.”

“No, but you give me much more in return. You give me happiness.”

Her face lit up at that.

“And you gives me happiness. Those light-up shoes you got me give me lots of happiness.”

He tickled her until she giggled. “Brat.”

“I is not a brat. I is adorable.”

“That too.”

She smiled. “But I gots to say, you didn’t need that silly Time-out chair.”

“No?”

“Nuh-uh. Or that paddle with Effie’s Been A Bad Girl written on it.”

“I thought that was rather genius.”

“Not cool, Daddy G. Not cool. I have to school you on this Daddy stuff. Daddies don’t buy paddles or Time-out chairs.”

“And if Grady believes that nonsense, he isn’t as smart as he claims to be,” Steele said, walking in with her bottle.

“Daddy! I didn’t see you there.”

“Uh-huh.”

“Just to clear things up, I didn’t believe a word of that,” Grady told them both.

“You want to give her the bottle?” Steele offered.

Fuck yes.

He nodded.

“Are you going to swaddle me again, Daddy G?” she asked.

His eyes widened. “You want that?”

She chewed her lip. “I’m a bit nervous to be on my own, though.”

“We have a baby monitor,” Steele told her. “If you yell out, one of us will hear.”

“I’ll stay with you this time too,” Grady told her.

“You will?”

“Yep. You say your safeword, I’ll get you out immediately.”

“Okay then, Daddy G. Do your worstest.”

Effie was in shock.

She wasn’t sure she’d like being swaddled, but as Grady wrapped her up, she felt this sense of calm come over her.

“All right, baby girl?” Steele asked as Grady lifted her into his lap on the rocking chair.

She nodded.

“Our precious girl.” Steele ran his fingers through her hair. “Look at our baby. So brave.”
